Between Iron City and TK, what are the odds of me enjoying some RP when I return? Seeing as I've been deprived of any decent amount of internet time for the last two months I am quite eager to get back into things once I return, which willl hopefully be in a week. I stress 'hopefully' because I don't know any more.. it was originally supposed to be ten days. >_>

Ahem, yes! So to the task at hand. Decent RP? Because while I do miss the dickens out of roleplaying, it would be only asking for heartbreak to try my luck if there is no special roleplayer out there to complete me. I checked the forum on my cell a few weeks ago and heard that Iron City was awesome but when I logged in last night everybody was in the OOC room.

All the times I've been to IC, it's just as you're saying -- everyone is in the OOC. I have heard of a few people running games there, but they're mostly closed-ish type ones.

Personally, I think it's going to be a lot like Realms or ... that other chat they made that no one really used. (Sorry, guys). It's a cool idea and it has some neat features, I just don't think it's so easy to incite a mass exodus.

See the problem is that these things are advertised and generally pushed on the forums and so on, and most of the people on the forums are bitter old vets who don't RP and hate to leave their comfort zone (guilty). What you need to do is set it up so that half the time you log into the Keep, it sends you to Iron City instead! Or something similar that reaches the people that are actually playing.

Yeah. IronCity does need a way to draw in some more roleplayers. The OOC base is growing, as are the scheduled roleplays, just not much of the sort who'll log into a room and roleplay for an hour or two on a whim.

*nods* It makes me sad, because I like the place a lot.

If I might suggest something...

I realize no one has a high opinion of the place, but the Kingdom Of Silvermoon from TK, is rather popular despite the fact that many consider it from Salior Moon or World of Warcraft. It draws quite alot of attetion from what were told, being organzied. If there was such a place on Iron City, it might invite more...on whim role playing. I'd be willing to help with such a place, as rping is something I Love, but ive not the mind to set up such a thing alone or id do it. Just a thought.

Isn't that the one Jason Baane plays on?

Noted regulars include, but are not limited to-

http://smkingdom.webs.com/playerindex.htm

I say 'not limited to' because that list isn't even half complete. I plan to bring it up to date (including better rendered pictures and more refined descriptions) in the next site update. But besides the regulars, we get a ton of people simply passing through. Though, unfortunately, a large percentage of those wind up being "rrrarrgghh we're going to destroy your Kingdom for no reason" types. This leads to its own fair share of negative 'publicity' when people call us RP newbs for voiding auto room kills.

I have happened to be witness (lurking, not playing) to some really crazy crap in your room, including a regular with some kind of Power Ranger style morphing where he becomes super powerful and indestructable. When asked why he can't be destroyed he said something about there being only one way to destroy him and only one person in the world knows what it is, so unless you can somehow figure out it he'll just continue dodging your bullets and farting fire at you.

But if that's how you guys play, fine. I do have to give you props that you at least keep it to your own room and leave me alone. I, likewise, have never interrupted your room at all and don't intend to.

Who the heck would that have been? We don't have any regulars like that which I know of.

Im afraid not Dalton, what you saw, I would bet would be one of the villians that daily attempt to destroy Silver Moon. These people for some strange reason seem drawn to the room like a moth to a flame, as far as I've been able to tell over my several weeks of rping in there, the regulars all have the normal vunerabilities. I play the room's resident villian and am quite soundly forced to retreat whenever I attack head on. Okay granted I am also not out oocly to murder anyone since I rp for fun and a plot line, but ya. So no Dalton and these rumors about Jason god moding are total bullshit. I am the first to call on anything I think as god moding, but a single human using an outdated firearm and the player allows that crap of slicing through bullets with Katana's and dodging bullets without any grief.

I think I Know who your talking about Dalton but that person was not a regular, he was some random foob who figured hed get a kick out of wiping the kingdom out. All in all the residents of SM are a mature and quite talented group of rpers. Also yes, I am aware my spelling and grammer here are crap, but im sick and have not slept alot so bear with me.

The guy I mention was defending the kingdom, and had up until the attack been eating at a picnic with Jason's character or something.

I dunno, it was like four months ago and I've been dealing with real life too much to remember some loser I saw one time.

I can understand the real life thing, which in turn I think you can admit your memory might be flawed. There is no way such a character would be allowed on the SMK defenders list. Your mistaken Dalton, you did a dungeon crawl with me awhile back and hopefully you still agree im not one to god mod. In that thought, I respect the SMK group and say they are one of the few groups around here that don't use Planar,Meta physics,Reality bending, teleporting and so forth to stupid extremes. IN fact the people who rag on Jason are usually the ones who end up doing those 5 hour fights where everyone dodges shit. The people spreading crap about this room and its rpers Dalton are the same ones we banned for trying to auto the entire room with god knows what bullshit.

I am sorry but your wrong, if you dislike the people in SMK that is of course your buisness, but of course the entire point of holding them up, was to say that an organzied kingdom like this draws rpers and might be a way to get things going on Iron city.

My IC character does not wear camouflage. While Silvermoon is capable of producing appropriate dyes, it was established long ago that it is decidedly not worth it due to the increased production cost (which we never really figured anyway) and the fact that everyone in The Keep/Ayenee/whatever sees through any given form of stealth anyway. His uniform is mostly flat olive drab.

It draws people in TK because there is a) a room where shit might be happening and b) a lot of people sitting around with nothing better to do.

IronCity doesn't have a lot of people sitting around IC with nothing better to do. It has a lot of people in rps already, or in the OOC room. I've tries this. I've left a character IC, just sitting there when there were other people around. No one came to see what was going on. We all just stayed in the OOC and talked about penis.

Not to say that your idea doesn't have merit, I think it's a good one, truly. But IronCity needs more publicity first. Try dragging all of your rp friends over there, get them to start using that place. Establish a new rp there or something. Spread the word!
