Are you a fan of Comic Books? Do you enjoy stories of Superpowered Heroes and Villains? Come join us in Freedom City!
Freedom City - a metropolis on the Eastern Coast of the United States of America. Home to a veritable pantheon of heroes and villains.
The heroic Centurion, a man from a parallel universe where the Roman Empire never fell, Dr. Metropolis, a living spirit of Freedom City itself.
Hiroshima's Shadow, a being made of living atomic energy, born in the wake of the bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki - perhaps a twisted spirit of the wounded cities.
Wildcard, the world's luckiest man, and perhaps one of the most dangerous members of the Mob.
These are just the background, pre-made characters.
Freedom City - a place where superpowered beings have been known since the 1930s. Superheroes are said to have played a key role in the second World War - both on the side of the Allies and the Axis. A place where magic, be it a gift from the spirits of the Ocean, as the sultry villainess Syren wields, the results of damnation as in the case of the spirit Lantern Jack, or the dark power of Voodoo all come into play, their wielders influencing things for weal or woe.
A place where the occasional demon and angel battle.
Freedom City - a place where some men and women fly and can stop tanks with their bare hands. Where aliens roam, occasionally invading or abducting those they see fit, according to their undecipherable plans. Where incredible scientists build pieces of technology that could revolutionize the modern world... or destroy it.
Freedom City - A place where the very best and the very worst in (meta)humanity can be found.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Freedom City RP is set in the Modern Age, with the full array of present (and some major futuristic) technology. Magic is present, as are other 'races'. Serpent men in foreign jungles, aliens, monsters and demons, angels and werewolves. Even Dracula has been known to show up in Freedom, once in a great while.
Currently, the characters involved in the Freedom City RP are as follows
Archaic, AKA Christopher Helix. Born of the line of the Knights of The Round Table, gifted with a 'racial' memory, physical and mental attributes at the peak of humanity, and a metric ton of money - which he uses to fund his more worthy endeavors: To be a Knight of Justice, clad in brilliant technological armor and wielding weapons with which to bring villains down.
Chymera, AKA Ileen Quinn. An Irish immigrant whose incredible powers were awakened by a traumatic event that cost her both her father and a great deal of her sanity. An animal mimic and shape-shifter, her feral wit and tenacity have proven her to be a true menace to Freedom City's population at large.
Goat: AKA "That somewhat retarded guy who eats hot-dog carts." A man gifted with agility, the ability to devour much of anything non-radioactive without harm, a positively inhuman amount of endurance and a magical, earth-moving shovel.
Ignacio Bellarosa, Spanish transplant and Movie Star. Born of the union between a witch and a summoned devil of some sort, Ignacio carries inside of him infernal blood that proves a constant source of temptation towards evil. Yet he resists as best he can - using his dark gifts to help others whenever possible.
Nyanki Nyoron, AKA "The Catgirl Space Police Samurai". An member of the Intergalactic Police Force who crashed landed on Earth while pursuing a ex-spec ops smuggler who had gotten his claws on a number of experimental, military-grade hyper drives and possibly a great deal of advanced weaponry. Gifted with an insane amount of strength and durability, a great deal of combat training and the alien art of 'symbology'.
Paragon, AKA Joseph Williams. The invulnerable man, given his incredible durability through an accident involving one of the US Navy's newest ships. A man who thinks like a soldier, whose durability and extensive experience have made him a man truly capable of being a super-hero.
Over all, the current power scale is best described as Moderate. We don't currently have any world-shaking, molecule-altering super(wo)men around.
Let us know if you're interested. Character approval is up to the group of people currently involved. If the character's accepted, they're welcome whenever.
