Bump.
By the way, moderators, I wonder why I never see my Map advertised... Even though it's always in the top ten...?

From what I've noticed (Hey technically a mod, stfu Ath) its only the first time a subject is posted to that it appears. Could be wrong though.

Seriously, Itd be worth it considering most kingdoms view it as fact now. Could we vote on it?

Some do, other players don't recognize any of this. It's why there not sticking it, I mean if they do for you....why don't they do it for another person who puts in as much work and as a good sized following...and if for him who says that it has to be a large following etc. They don't sticky it because it's a user thread. At least that's my theory. <.< I am one of the people who adores the map.

Stickying this, and making it.. Idunno, canon.. It seems weird to me. Seeing as the Keep, and the main rooms of old (Forest, Garden, East and West Tower, Main Hall, Pub, Arena) has always been in a close vicinity to eachother. All additional features has been temporary, usermade locales. Kingdoms came and went.
The Keep, the structure itself and the lands around it, fluctuates in the Multiverse. One day it's there, another it's gone again. Doorways open and close at a whim. Some are constant, some only one way, others only that one time.
But, be as it may, the map you created, Athe, is brilliant. It's a nice feature, but it sort of removes a part of the very essence of TK. The Free Form part. Making the Keep into a setting, in a static world. I'm not sure it works that way.. But, in the end, it's all up to the Top Dogs. The Powers that be..

I think a viable representation of how TK works is AD&D's take on things. Let me break it down for those outside of the know on that:
Sigil goes by many names, most referring to it as a gateway of sorts. Portals appear and disappear, have keys both physical and not, and fluctuate in appearance and frequency. There are items that are portals in themselves that exist within this plane, there are people who are extraplanar, there are all sorts of things. Sigil is like a middle ground, a courtyard around whom there is an ever-changing castle.
The various planes and places host races of varied types; there are the logical, technological Modrons, the spiritual, mentalist Githzerai, the hell-borne Abishai... there are many, many races, all stemming from their own planes and their own niches. Some planes disappear; some have portals that are ever-moving; some planes are spontaneously created; some planes are merely prisons-- there is no end to them and their variety. To say they fall within any one specification is folly.
I propose that, in a way, TK reflects this. We have both modern, realistic and very simplistic roleplays, alongside the political, dramatic strife of Shakespearean medieval. We have fantastic creatures roaming great rolling plains and we have gangsters pulling hits in dark alleys. We have slaves being traded in dystopian societies and kingdoms heralding the changes of a new age of freedom. And in all this, some remain, some vanish. Some interact with TK, others are separate entirely. TK is, in essence, a middle-ground upon which some events take place, and from which many other 'planes'-- roleplays, if you want to be literal-- stem.
I do approve of the nature of the gesture, but like Furr, feel that it may be an effort in vain.
That having been said, what is present is not a bad take. I just feel that it is a selective representation, and that TK itself is subject very easily to the user's whims, and map or no, will continue to be as much. The best I could suggest happening is a map of each locale, but even I have played with very specific notions of each place that I've played along with for the years I've roleplayed here.
Please don't take this as bashing; I'm reinforcing both points Furr makes, in that the map is a bit subjective, but that what is present is bloody genius considering the often-transient state The Keep is referred to as being within.

Oh, no, I understand both Robin and Furr's points. The point of making it a sticky wouldn't be to make it canon... Just since they've already taken it off the active advertising circuit, it'd make it easier on my part to find on the board (especially those times when it gets bumped down by Viagra and Cialis spam).

Bump.
Due to the inactivity of several players, there are now large portions of the Map open once more. Feel free to place your claims!

To let you know, Atheism, New Lordaeron is returning shortly full time, I am finally settled once more after several months bouncing around in hotels, stable net and I am putting to rest several characters which eat up much of my time. I don't expect you to Re-Add it immediatly but perhaps after a few months of being around you might consider it.

I haven't removed it, yet. But you were in your grace period after the thirty day restriction. Thanks for giving me a heads-up. Now I won't remove it in the next rounds of updates.

Alright thanks, Im not sure if it's still labeled Lights Haven or not but to clear it up if it is, I actually decided on the name of New Lordaeron, as it seemed more in keeping with the characters, there past and the type of genre I was using. At any rate thank you for keeping it around so long, I appreciate it.

I am spreading my influence to a few more of the small islands near Kal Satharik, and extending it a little deeper into the area around the Oasis.
