Welcome to D. W. Corporation.
D.W. Corp. has taken an oath that, in this strange lands, humans will become as powerful as the creatures that also inhabit this place called The Keep. They will advance themselves to the only advantage they have over the undead, the magical, and the otherworldly: Science.
Here at the D.W. Corporation, we offer human ‘upgrades’ including cybernetics, DNA Splicing, Controlled mutation, and other general ‘upgrades’ for mankind. We also do research on the inhuman, especially talented humans, and magic in effort to bring their talents and unique skills to mankind in some way shape or form. We offer exciting opportunities in the lab, in the field, and for anyone looking to purchase our services.
Here’s to mankind, and the hope for its advance.
-D.W. Corp.
The RP
This is an open world RP. We interact with all of tK, we are a part of it, but we are also our own unique space, with NPC’s and plotlines completely our own. The D.W. Corporation is at the center of this RP, but will not engulf its player’s entire tK lives. Any race, any creature, ANYONE can play with this plotline.
The Plot
This is a ‘make your own’ plot sort of plotline. Any side plots are welcome, and the main plot is loosely based on a character to character instance.
Character Creation:
There are three tiers of D.W. Corp, each with its own playable ‘classes’. Tier one is honest workers. Tier Two, for freelancers, and people of questionable morality. Tier Three is for the cold, intellectual, and eviler of the players. All characters can come and go as they please, and may be connected with as many other RPs as they wish.
The D.W.Corp. is a business offering its services to the world. People can come in and get worked on, or ask for work, in its business of installing and buying human ‘updates’. A list of offered updates is listed at the bottom of the profile. Tier one characters don’t have many special rules outside from the general RP rules and guidelines, and the rules of tK. Tier One ‘classes’ are as followed:
Tier One: Face Value
Customer –Self explanatory right? You come here and buy upgrades for yourself.
Volunteers- Volunteers are walk-ins who claim to have a specific talent or ability, or are normal humans willing to be experimented on. They’re willing to share their power, and let themselves and this power be examined by D.W.Corp. Medical Personnel and scientists, or be experimented on by the same bunch. Of course, they’re paid for their time based on their talent, or time. Rare talents or species get more money than average.
Secretary- You keep the customers in order. Secretaries are responsible for making sure people are paid in full, setting up appointments to be seen, and getting a list of what a customer wants upgraded, and to what extent. Secretaries will receive a list of updates available to customers. Secretaries also take care of volunteers who have come in to help the Corporation achieve its goals. They send contact information, and ‘talents’ or race of said volunteer to the Science department for consideration. Aside from that, they have no other rules or real knowledge of the interior workings of D.W. Corporation
Secretaries are familiar with the following NPC: Mr. D, Renee Goodwill, Omega Goodwill.
Medical Personnel – The Medical Personnel assist, or even perform at the higher skill levels, the updates on customers paying for them. Every operation, they must roll a 1d10 to determine how the surgery gets on. A 9 or 10 means there has been an accident, a mishap, or something has gone wrong. It is up to them to determine just what through RP. We ask you be fair. Medical Personnel must also be familiar with the Following NPCs: Mr. D, Rene Goodwill. Omega Goodwill.
Security- Again, rather self explanatory. Security makes sure no ones whose unauthorized goes to the upper levels or the operating rooms. They also take care of angry intruders, or troublemakers. Security is armed. Always. There is a lot of expensive stuff in D.W.Corp. that needs protecting. They are familiar with the following NPCs: Mr. D, Omega Goodwill, and Devon Shifter.
Tier Two: The Shadow Side. On the upper floors, things get darker.
Scouts: Scouts go out into the world and find people or races with unique talents. This person isn’t going to be impressed by your run of the mill healer or werewolf. There has to be something uniquely special about these individuals that merit attention. A good scout can convince that person to come in and be studied. The average passes in the name and know talents to the Collector’s Office. Scouts are familiar with the following NPCs: Mr. D Devon Shifter, Virgo Goodwill
Hunters: Hunters are freelancers who, ideally, capture people or creatures with unique powers, and bring them into the corporation for study, usually against they’re will. They’re paid for every catch, less for dead, more for alive. Hunters are familiar with the following NPC’s: Virgo, Devon Shifter. Hunters know the following alternative entrances: Back Loading Lot
Collectors: Collectors are the bounty hunters of D.W. Corp. They are given specific names of uniquely talented individuals, and are paid to bring them, and only them, back. Alive is paid more than dead by a very large sum. Collectors are usually freelance, much like hunters. Hunters are familiar with the following NPCs: Devon Shifter, Virgo Goodwill
Recruiters: There are many experiments to be done, and not enough subjects. Thats where recruiters come in. They bring in the unwilling masses of innocent humans. Recruiters are payed based on the health of the individuals brought in, and by numbers. For example, a few homeless guys aren't worth very much, but a hundred healthy kindergardeners will earn the big bucks. Recruiters are familiar with the following NPCs: Virgo, Devon 'Dak' Shifter
Tier Three: The Dark, Dank, Underbelly. Down in the labs, all you hear are screams.
Scientists: Scientists examine specimens brought into D.W. Corp, or they experiment on humans to try and imitate powers. The majority of scientists will find themselves experimenting or examining people against their will. Scientists can either assist a main scientist, or pursue their own designs in experimentation. Experimentation is determined successful or failures with a coin flip. If it is a success, there is a required 1d10 roll for side effects. A score of six or more means there’s an unexpected and adverse side effect. Scientists are familiar with the following NPCs: Mr. D, Omega Goodwill, Renee Goodwill, Devon Shifter, Ottavo, and Ivan’Inke’ Evanova.
Experiments: Congratulations, you’re being pinched and poked. Experiments are at the mercy of their assigned scientist, and voluntary ones are treated considerably better than those caught out in the world. What happens to you is mainly in the hands of your scientist. You get to keep whatever it is they’re injecting you with too, so hope it’s good. Experiments are familiar with the following NPCs: Ivan’Inke’ Evanova.
Employed Experiments: Employed experiments are experiments either too dangerous or two valuable to let back into the world. They serve the D.W. Corp in different methods, depending on their particular skills. Employed experiments are equipped with tracking devices, and the more dangerous ones are equipping with ‘kill switches’ for quick termination. Removal of either has to be a plot device, and if a moderator approves the validity of the removal as possible, it’s removed. A kill switch removal comes with a 1d10 roll. If the roll is a 9, the kill switch goes off anyway. Most Employed Experiments are Mind Wiped. Again, Employed Experiments must be attached to a scientist. Employed Experiments are familiar with ALL the NPCS.
Shadow Force: The deepest, darkest of the D.W.Corp sections. They are in charge of making sure experiments don’t escape, and Employed ones that go freelance are either brought in again, or completely destroyed. The Shadow Force is almost completely exclusively Employed Experiments, and is of limited openness. Moderator approval is needed. The Shadow Force is Familiar with ALL the NPCs.
NPCS:
Mr. D is the person who signs your checks, but you’ll never see him unless you’re really luck, or really unlucky. He’s the man behind the curtain.
Omega Goodwill is the daughter of Rene, and a beautiful blonde bombshell of a woman with a cold, calculating mind. She is Rene’s second in command, and is the go-to person for all things medical. There are questions circling the gossip ring questioning whether she is Rene’s real daughter, as they seem very different both in looks and it temperament. Operations performed with Omega present only fail if a 10 is rolled.
Renee Goodwill is the red-headed, creeping looking head of the medical department know for his feminine looks, the scars on his face, and the bionic arm attached to his left side. As a young man he mastered the art of bionic attachments, as has a real genius of a mind for all things medical and mechanical. No longer in his hay day, Renee assists the new doctors with learning the procedure for most of the human updates. He only performs the most difficult of procedures or procedures for a high-paying customer. Updates performed with Rene as lead surgeon auto pass.
Ivan ‘Inke’ Evanova is head scientist, and the creator of the Shadow force Leader, Ottavo. He’s known for his thick Russian accent and the peg-leg he refuses to be rid of, despite the nature of the place he works. He’s an older gentleman with very questionable moral standings. Experiments performed with the assistance of Inke can re-toss a failed coin, but good luck convincing him it’s worthwhile.
Devon ‘Dak’ Shifter is the big black man at the head of security. He’s cocky, arrogant, and aggressive, and you don’t want to mess with him. Rumor is he’s not a human, but no one can say for sure.
Virgo is a mystery. She’s almost emotionless and only talks business. She’s in charge of the freelancers for D.W.Corp, and is rumored to be Omega Goodwill’s sister. Like Omega, she is a pale, blonde bombshell.
Ottavo is frightening to look at, and even more frightening to deal with. He’s extremely tall and thin, with thick black hair and bright red eyes and sharp, pointed teeth. He heads up the Shadow Force, and in times of boredom, will help out the hunters or collectors. He’s also known to occasionally assist Inke with his experiments. Passed Experiments with Ottavo present have to roll below a three to be side-effect free.
