The existence of another room parallel to the Arena does NOT instantly mean that it was made to circumvent the frustations of OOC.

2. Who is a person who has tried to RP, unsuccessfully, in the Arena?

3. Who has attempted to, while RPing, quiet OOC so that RP could more easily proceed?

Yes, you're entirely correct. This is correlation at its finest, and by no means does it imply causation. That said, of course, I'm looking at the other maybe-substantial evidence that should be known to you - even if you're afking through most of it - as well.
Was there OOC in the ICArena? Yes. I never said there wasn't.

But generally speaking, when someone makes a room ( and thus has mod powers ), and asks people to quiet down their OOC, people tend to listen better.

I can second this.

On further note, I actually asked Silver why she'd opened TheICArena that night. Her answer was simple. For less OOC X_x and more RP. Then she granted modship to Angelo before she exited for the night.

That settles that.

My point is this. If there was OOC to escape at the time of TheICArena being made, it PROBABLY would have been banned from within TheICArena itself.

But it wasn't.
So I don't think there was much OOC in the Arena to begin with.
I've never seen Silver fight publicly in the Arena. Maybe she's just another Wolfprince who doesn't like fighting there.

You would be right about that. The whole her not fighting in the arena thing and all that jazz. She prefers plot based combat role play, but people settle with what they can get.

Oftentimes, one would imagine that the threat of getting kicked/banned is enough - and at least, that's what I would imagine that Silver would think.

That said, just because I say "OOC can be disruptive" doesn't mean "OOC is always disruptive".
And also, Styles, you're slightly off - I don't think Silver ever does purely for-the-hell-of-it combat RP, outside of tournaments. Which...I don't think she's participated in since the Shiori(?) Kiba.

So is she like Wolfprince? No. Wolf fights willy-nilly, plot or no - and more often without than with - whereas Silver fights almost to the exclusion of plotless combat RPs.

Most people don't actually work on anything plot-related in the Arena, after all.

I turned her down because she RPs a child, and I was uh... skeptical of her legitimacy at the time (I was still really new).

She got mad and went looking for someone else.


That's besides the point though. I compared her to Wolfprince not to measure how 'willy-nilly' she is about fighting, but because Wolfprince avoids fighting in the Arena out of a personal preference. I think Wolfprince just doesn't like people watching him 'brush up' on his fighting anymore. I don't know what reasons Silver has for preferring to fight in rooms other than the arena, but I don't think her creation of TheICArena had to do with a then-present surfeit of OOC in the Arena.

Not any more than her TheICArena room had anyway.

Her TheICArena room wiped the Arena out. Place was dead silent all day.

I'll say this right now just for the sake of saying it, I guess (Hell I'm bored at work, posting here is something to do) - if I get trial public room/global powers sometime in the whenever that would possibly be I'll at least try to leave my IC name lurking in the arena as well so i can be alerted to issues easier - I do know/like a lot of you regulars...or at least the older ones....in there anyways and would be glad to be a backup mod whenever those that might be put on for trial aren't in there.

Aside from that I sort of like to lurk there sometimes anyways.

Currently, Pitch is on trial as one. I'll accept further applications in my forum PM box, and will rifle through them as needed.

I'll be monitoring and such, so hopefully there's less cause to be negative about it; status quo only worked for so long.

I'm starting a new thread that says pretty much the same thing so that this one can fall off, and we can be more positive going forward. (I'm not ignoring what was said on this thread, mind you, but I'd like to have a fresh start to read new thoughts on, and I'm sure people will be vocal about anything that happens in there from now on.)
