Concept art for Keep rooms! Input goes here.

[Pitch]

Okay, so I agreed to do concept art for the Keep's rooms about a million years ago (3 months back) after pitching the idea to Rook and Webby. What I have in mind are matte paintings done speed style first rendered in Google Sketchup for depth.  I was instructed to start with the Pub and the Arena to see how they turned out before going on to the other rooms.

What I'm looking for here is a few people to drop some photos they may have found around the internet which might inspire them or remind them of how their favorite rooms look. This includes but is not limited to: Movie screenshots, photos of ancient ruins, stills from any games they might play and anything else they can think of. Any ideas or suggestions in text are very much welcomed as well!

For now the Pub and the Arena are the most important projects, but if anyone has suggestions for the Garden, desert or towers...well, I can certainly use them!

Post it all here! (And if this belongs in another forum go ahead and scoot it in case I mucked the placement up)

Oooh. I do like the idea of fire being on top of the towers. And hopefully it can be done without me accidentally jocking LotR's nuts! This is definetly a good one. Danke, Rosery!

Oh, I still need to play that game. No doubt! Only issue is my towers (in my head) are a bit LotRish, so thats what I'm worried about. But really, the fire on the tower or something similar is a good idea. Maybe I can do something mildly different with it. Almost an evil light house sort of thing....

Might as well contribute to this.  I've got an idea for the Pub's picture.

At the top, in the center, there is an aged, wooden sign like you'd see hanging outside of an establishment, and it says in rustic letters, "The Nexxus Pub".  Below the "sign", there would be what a character would see as soon as they walked in - the bar in the back with Soja tendering with a wiley grin, a blazing fireplace off to the right with a familiar looking couch and Kaz and company sitting on it holding a stein apiece, and off to the left would be, say, a bar wench holding a platter with a few drinks upon it.  At the very bottom of the picture would be a sign similar to the one on the top, but it would say "Welcome".

The picture would basically give a "Welcome, come in, eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow, we are redlighted while lurking" feel.  The bar wench (not Soja) would have an attire similar to the guy on the Sam Adams bottles.  Colonial.

That's my idea.  Now if I can just formulate a raw picture for it.  Let me know what you think.

Harry should have a rotund belly with a large mustache and a pair of simple brown lacks, slightly balding head, a kind face and a simple apron over a white shirt along with that he should hold a sign that says "Fuck with my Pub and I'll fuck up your face." <.< And then have him holding an inside out face =P

Everything up to the sign is a legitimate suggestion though.
