PROVIDE: Album, Artist, Specific song.

And then whatever details you want to share. I like seeing what everyone here listens to, as musical tastes are widely varied.

Song: Silver Maiden.

The album is, as it says, a Metal Opera - though some of the song contained inside of it aren't metal at all. Some are rock, some are soft ballads, then there's just plenty of raw power-metal, with symphonic touches.

Anyway.

The album is about a world or a country called Aina, under siege from a demon king who kidnaps the most beautiful princess the world had ever seen, uses her to bear a son, keeps  her locked away to raise said son (with his help), who, while growing up, ends up in love with a beautiful woman he meets at a lake - who, unbeknownst to him, is the queen of the world/country he is about to lead an army of demons against. When the time comes. . . there is tragedy and so on.  It's a really fun album.

Super nerdy, as Lugh would say. But it's fun despite that.

My favorite song on it's gotta be The Siege of Aina, which has a duet of chants, one for the angelic/good forces, and one for the demons. It's a cool CD-set.

Quote from: Information
Aina is the name given to both an album, 2004's Aina -- Days of Rising Doom -- The Metal Opera, and an international collective of musicians championed by multi-instrumentalist Robert Hunecke-Rizzo (Luca Turilli, Rhapsody, Kamelot). Along with producer Sascha Paeth, keyboardist and arranger Miro, and vocalist and lyricist Amanda Somerville, the Aina project boasts an extensive cast of participants drawn from the hard rock and metal communities, including Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, etc.), Michael Kiske (ex-Helloween), Andre Matos (ex-Angra), Candace Night (Blackmore's Night), Sass Jordan, Jens Johansson (Stratovarius, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, Dio, etc.), Derek Sherinian (ex-Dream Theater), Tobias Sammet (Edguy, Avantasia), Marco Hietala (NightWish), and many more.

Album: Dragon Quest III Symphonic Suite.
Artist: NHK Symphony Orchestra.
Song: Around the World.

I like the London Philharmonic's renditions better for the most part--more power--but this is still pretty good.

But previously, http://nexxushost.com/forums/index.php?topic=63377.0, which you really should listen to, if just for the facial expressions of Louie Armstrong.

Ah, the good old hypnotic rhythm of clothes being tossed back and forth in a washer/drier. Good stuff for sleeping.

Artist: That 1 Guy
Album: The Moon Is Disgusting
Song: The Moon Is Disgusting

Definitely a purely unique artist. Very techno sound. The thing sitting next to him, is his instrument.
Yes, it's an instrument. Made it himself.

From Wiki:
Quote from: Wikipedia
Mike has developed a career as a one-man band under the stage name That 1 Guy, first playing his upright bass, and later singing and beatboxing while playing his Magic Pipe, musical saw, various percussive elements, and utilizing digital looping and sampling to perform his songs.

The Magic Pipe:
Quote
The Magic Pipe, also known by his close friends as 'The Broken Bowflex', is a homemade, electronically rigged pair of steel pipes, connected by adjustable joints, with each pipe hosting an orchestral bass string. The harp-shaped instrument is roughly seven feet tall and features 13 trigger points, which can be mapped to various musical sound effects or samples. The front pipe uses a low C string, while the rear pipe's string is used to achieve more tenor ranged notes. The pipes themselves are employed to produce various percussive sounds while That 1 Guy slaps, plucks, or bows the strings, as well as occasionally utilizing a drum stick to sound the strings and the pipes at the same time. The creation of the Magic Pipe was based on Silverman’s double bass experience, as well as borrowing from the concepts of the gutbucket and the diddley bow.

The Magic Boot:
Quote
The Magic Boot is a scorpion-emblazoned cowboy boot, which is wired and fed through the Magic Pipe’s audio lines. It is then played as a percussive instrument by tapping on the sole while pinching the boot’s opening to achieve different sounds, similar to an African talking drum.

The Magic Saw:
Quote
The Magic Saw is a musical saw, which is wired into the main effects box. It utilizes a small adhesive speaker and is played percussively as well as with a violin bow. It sounds similar to a theremin when played and renditions of Somewhere Over The Rainbow have been performed on numerous occasions.

Youtube him sometime, especially his live videos.

NOTE: Best played with good sound system/head phones, to capture the effects of the bass.

Song: Lullaby.

Female fronted symphonic power metal band. Less musically varied than say, Nightwish, but still very pleasant. Heidi Parviainen's vocals are always top-notch.  Also, Heidi herself (on the album cover) is good lookin'.

Album: Suffer Our Pleasures
Artist: Tarot
Song: Pyre of Gods

Surprised you listen to Turisas, Moondog. Heh.

I listen to a pretty wide range of things. Also, Tarot, fuck yeah. Though, I prefer Crows Fly Black.

: D ! Both are good!

Edit:  Embarassing, but might as well!

Artist: Rammstein
Song: Du Hast

( I watched 'How High' this morning and I keep thinking about that scene where he wakes up to Du Hast being blasted in his ear and a blunt being waved around in his face. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SsgwtpQQ88 )
