I think Robo has been doing a great job and needs to be acknowledged for it. He should be considered to have more power to help other rooms.

... they (the people who decide when the trial is over) usually get around to this in their own time. Might as well leave them to it.

The MH moderators have been on trial for a good while now, though.

I think the typical time is something like a month or two. I'd still leave it up to the staff about when the trial period is over.

I don't support giving people global moderator powers when they actively pick favorites, create rules to suit there needs, purposefully incite drama (and even sponsor it), and have maybe, at best, a basic understanding of the AUP they're supposed to uphold and enforce.
Edit: Before people get snarky; of course, I am banned, so my say has little sway within the chat (not that it ever did to begin with) but hey, there you go. Just before anyone wants to throw that out there as some sort of discredit to an argument.

Also, why are there two "Yes" options, two "Undecided", and 1 "No" ? That's not very balanced. In fact, it actually skews against your favor. It'd probably be easier to remake the poll to simply be... "Yes", "No", and "Undecided". But hey.

He's got a point, there. If you're polling, keep it simple - and if you don't keep it simple, make sure it's balanced.

Poll notwithstanding, I think he's doing an alright job. I could stand seeing him as a global?
I don't know him very well, but I've seen him in action. Perhaps another poll should be made? (if possible)

"Yes" "No" "I have not interacted with him/her at all" "I have no views/cannot decide either way".
Not 'yes, yes, maybe, maybe, no'.

The only reason I put two yes options, is because not everyone on the keep goes in the Main Hall.
But really. Why the fuck is the topic about how the poll is set up, rather then the actual topic everyone is voting for.
If the global moderators make another poll, good, it's what I'm trying to do. Just bring the topic to everyone's attention, especially the other mods.

The problem isn't with the two yes options, it's with the unbalanced number of options. A poll of this nature needs to be balanced, which means that the two yes options should have been offset by two no options. You can have as many not sure/don't care/lolwat options as you'd like, just so long as someone randomly hitting a button has an equal chance of giving a positive and negative response. P.S. I'll probably rewrite this when I'm awake and coherent.

The mods have their own way of doing things, and this just makes you look impatient. When Rook/Webby/Whoever the hell decides that it's time to run a poll, they'll run a poll, and until then it's kind of "Oh, look, they're, uh... what, they can't wait like everybody else?"
But yeah, there shouldn't be unbalanced options. Then, like, say, if two people voted the two different yeses, then you've effectively only got one yes vote, anyway. You only have as many yes-votes as the one that got more, if you have there be two yes-votes, and if you have only one no-vote, then it'll throw things off.

The way a poll is set up is very important. For example, people complain that Fox uses polls from its own website in a way that unfairly represents the entire US population. Keep polls to two options. Yes or No. And keep the question as simple and unbiased as possible. Asking if the local police department's budget should be increased might get different results than a poll asking if the local police officers should get a raise. I guess it doesn't hurt to include a cop-out 'Maybe' or 'I don't know' as a third or fourth option, but the peope who would vote that way should have the prudence to just not vote if they can't already decide between Yes or No. /twocents Edit: Take my pies. Everyone's doing it.
