[/whois TidesOfChange] It's been some years now since gene-splicing was outlawed, but the results are still tangible. The tension is thick between the anthromorph population and regular humans ... The latter wants them out of the picture, and former wants equal rights. Neither side is going to have peace without a heated conflict before-hand.

The tides of change are upon us. Will the humans succeed in banishing the half-breeds? .. or will the anthro civil rights movement pick up steam? You decide.

This is to be a modern RP that centers on a neo-civil rights movement between the population of genetically engineered 'anthromorph half-breeds' and the humans who despise them.

We're hoping to have a wide assortment of characters, with interpersonal conflicts that mirror the great struggle of anthro vs. human.

Current Status/First Addendum:

Here is how things stand as the RP begins:

The Anthromorphs are considered second-class citizens in society now. This is the result of incessant bashing and lobbying by extremist organizations. The occupations an anthromorph can possess are extremely limited, seeing as most places will not hire them.

Naturally, some have found work for themselves doing various types of physical labor (both wholesome and scandalous). There are also a fortunate few who have not been disowned and managed to keep high paying jobs.

The majority of anthros are living in slummy city districts across the country -- The general response has been that once a "half-breed' moves into the neighborhood, most of the humans in that region decide to leave, creating homogenous, low-income, cooperative, so-called "Furry Districts."

Others have fled society altogether and live off the land as squatters.

Legally, anthromorphs are not considered "people," and as such have very limited legal rights. There are a number of outspoken anthromorph figures as well as human supporters that are trying to change this, however the majority of regular human people are generally apathetic to this end, a great number of them are even uneasy or uncomfortable with them in general.

Matters are made worse by the humans that actually go out of their way to oppress them.. and with little legal recourse against them, there isn't much to keep them in check. Anthros that stand against these 'terrorists' are generally thrown in jail or otherwise isolated, and treated like aggressors of an animal attack. Some pro-humanity groups are even vying to have these individuals "euthanized," much like a dangerous animal would be.

The good news is that Washington is starting to feel the pressure of the situation, but a legal resolution is still forthcoming...
