I was told by a World Cup fan that other sports needed their own thread. Probably the most cogent point from that Cup fan. The NBA Finals certainly deserves its own thread. My wrestling coach might have called Basketball "Sissy-ball" ...but it least it wasn't Soccer...

Game 5 of this series was a hard fought but well executed win for the Boston Celtics. The Truth, The Captain, Paul Pierce led the team with 27 points, while the Big Ticket Kevin Garnett had 18, with 10 rebounds and 2 steals. Kobe Bryant led all scorer's with 38 points (every one of which was a nearly impossible shot thanks to the C's smothering defense). The rest of the Lakers team had only 48 points. The Celtics are 11-0 in their legendary history of NBA play-off series when they win game 5.

Now the series shifts back to Los Angeles for the remaining games of this series. My prediction calls for win in Game 6 to fulfill the Banner 18 Prophecy. The Celtics have already defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in 6 games and they were the #1 ranked team in the NBA. The Celtics then proceeded to defeat the Orlando Magic, the #2 ranked team in the NBA in 6 games. Now, they are up 3-2 against the Los Angeles Lakers, who were the #3 ranked team of the 2010 season. The Boston Celtics will beat every super-star you throw at them because they play Team basketball. That's Championship basketball. Kobe Bryant is a ridiculously talented player. The Celtics are a ridiculously talented team.

BEAT L.A. BEAT L.A. BEAT L.A.

Let me know when football season starts up again.

Adrian Peterson skipped out on OTA's for "Adrian Peterson Day" in his hometown... Logan Mankins is bitching about his restricted free-agent contract, and Revis sat out plays in his practice at Jets camp because he's not satisfied with his $1mil contract.

Football season never ends.

Don't even get me started on Baseball.
