I want to try and run a superhero/comic book game using the Mutants and Mastermind game system. Setting will be in said Freedom City, power level will be 10, mood of game will be more of a classic comic/pulpish not so dark and gritty genre .
As far as characters, I'd have to look them over and work with players on designs and builds. But much like comics, almost anything can go under a Power level ten setting and build, but keep in mind this is based off classic western comics, and not the more anime or magna styled ones of Eastern culture and recent popularity.

As far as nights and times, I am looking at Tuesday, Wedndays, Friday, Saturday or Sunday, late night EST, such as 111PMish or later starts.

Rob's RT game wraps up at about 11, so I'd be up for this. (Though, if other people want to play, I'd probably wait to have an idea what they're making so I don't go redundant or anything.)

Also: I'd only be able to play if it's on a Wednesday.

I WILL JOIN THIS GAME

Would you like me to post my character idea(s) or do you still have the write-up I sent your way a while back? 8D

Incidentally, I am free Tuesdays, Wednesdays, every other Saturday, and Sundays.

You can post ideas, as many as you want.  I have no idea when this will kick off, hopefully we can get at least a couple more people to jump in. So far it looks like Wesndays.

You're already familiar with my first character idea, I've RPd with her in Freedom City already, after all.  Her stats are below.

I've also got two other ideas, haven't gotten anything written down, mechanics wise. I've got a VERY power-based 'Holy' type of character, who uses light based powers for nearly everything he needs to do - flying, zapping, punching, you name it, he uses his powers for it. Without them, he's a pansy.  Archaeology student who came across a particularly interesting grail, origins wise.

Then there's a shapeshifter, I think I'd go with the standard comic-style 'A near-genius bio-chemist working for <big company name here>'s project involving various forms of DNA, and bending them into other strands and shapes, accident happens, boom, unstable DNA that can be controlled via focus, shape-changing (into living things only, of course).

Quote
Abilities: STR 20(+5) DEX 20(+5) CON 20(+5) INT 14(+2) WIS 16(+3) CHA 12(+1)

Huge physical ability scores across the board, coupled with a high wisdom and reasonably high Int mean that, while she’s a power-house, and far stronger and tougher than any basic human, she’s not insanely so just due to her stats alone. Furthermore, her charisma is relatively low. Not because of dump-stats, or anything of the sort, but because she doesn’t really have leadership qualities, isn’t particularly loud or flashy, and, additionally, has absolutely no idea how to ‘work what she’s got’, as it were.

Skills: Acrobatics 5 (+10), Computers 4 (+6), Diplomacy 4 (+5), Disable Device 8 (+10), Drive 4 (+9), Escape Artist 4 (+9), Gather Information 4 (+5), Intimidate 8 (+13), Investigate 6 (+8), Medicine 2 (+5), Notice 5 (+8), Profession (Police Officer) 4 (+7), Search 4 (+6), Sense Motive 4 (+7), Stealth 4 (+9)
Most of her skills are picked from her role as a space detective. She’s not very bad at her job, but as a good look through will show you, she relies just as much on her own natural abilities as any actual ranks in the skill, reflecting that she is rather new at what she does.

Feats: Accurate Attack, All-out Attack, Attack Focus (Melee) 3, Benefit (Powerful Intimidation), Chokehold, Defensive Roll 4, Dodge Focus 2, Elusive Target, Evasion, Fearless, Improved Disarm 2, Improved Initiative 2, Improved Pin, Instant Up, Luck 2, Power Attack, Rage 2, Stunning Attack

She has, simply put, a *ton* of combat feats. Enough that you get the sense that she’s really more of a martial artist than she is a cop – this is intentional. Raised in a dojo, and instilled with a strong sense of justice, she joined the GPD both as a means to get paid for beating up criminals, and to do the right thing.

While her total grasp of combat isn’t on the master level – in fact, it’s about the same as the standard marine's – her focus is in melee, and she will have no trouble hitting most opponents. Someone absolutely dedicated to not getting hit, like a truly focused martial artist, or a speedster, would be able to frustrate her, at least until she brings to bear some of her feats.

Through Accurate Attack, she can drop some of her (incredible) damage, for a greater chance to hit. If, somehow, she can’t hurt something, All Out Attack (which represents her simply refusing to dodge) and Power Attack should let her nail it. She’s incredibly tough as far as it goes, half of it is simply her innate toughness, the rest of it is her skill at rolling with punches.

The addition of Rage is an interesting touch, I think. It boosts her Strength and Toughness a bit, as well as makes her Will Save nicer – and, since it only comes about when she’s been thoroughly frustrated, is a decent bit of character enhancing.

Powers:

Fahren Traits:
Additional Limbs 1 (Prehensile Tail)
Adrenaline Rush: (Boost – Physical Trait, any, 10 -> 4 ranks are ‘tiring’)
Resilient: (Impervious Toughness 4, Protection 2)
Enhanced Metabolism: (Regeneration 3 – Injured 1 Minute),
Inhumanly Fast: (Super-Speed 1 – Rapid Attack)
Keen Hearing: (Super Senses 2 (Acute: Hearing)
Strong Legs: (Leaping 2)

Device 2 (Beam Sword – Strike 5, Linked - Disintegrate 3, F: Unreliable)

Power Wise: Nothing particularly note-worthy, and in fact, against a truly dedicated ‘brick’, she’ll come up as unable to really compete. She can all but ignore small arms fire, which will simply bounce off of her. It takes shotguns or heavier weaponry to actually hurt her.

The Adrenaline Rush is interesting, she can either boost all of her physical traits (strength, protection, impervious toughness)  by 10 ranks, making her, for a short period of time, an absolute MONSTER, or can use it to enhance other stuff – for example, using it to boost her running speed to insane levels, picking up
5 more ranks of Super Speed, that kind of thing.

The last 4 ranks of the power are purchased with the tiring disadvantage. When the boost fades, she’ll be Fatigued, as channeling THAT much of a rush will take its toll. The 6 is there to let her customize what she can do – but the last 4 are a ‘last resort’ kind of measure.

The beamsword is the only piece of alien technology she still keeps around - it's absolutely lethal, and can, given time, cut through anything at all (it drains toughness through disintegrate, after all), but it simply isn't reliable. Sometimes, it'll turn on and work fine, other times (up to the GM, really) it simply doesn't work, or she forgot it at home, or it ran out of power, and so on. Kind of like Spiderman and his constantly running out of web-fluid. Only with lasers.

Combat: Attack +5  Defense 17 (Flat-footed: 12)  Initiative +17

Due to her extreme natural agility, senses, and combat ability, her initiative is through the roof. She will almost always get the drop on the average group of thugs. Her attack bonus is low – this is intentional, as for the most part, she relies more on the ability to hit things *very hard*, and her own natural abilities, instead of rigorous training. So she’s more like Superman than say, Iron Fist.  Her Defense, however, is high, mostly due to her reflexes – she does *not* have uncanny dodge, as that is something better served for truly gifted martial artists.

Grapple: +13 (Attack - +5,Strength - +5,Size - +0)

Her grapple is pretty darn good.

Saves: Toughness +7(+5) Fortitude +8 Reflex +8 Willpower +5

She’s at +12 to Toughness save (when not flat-footed). She’s incredibly resilient, very difficult to poison or otherwise put down with fortitude saves, fast enough to stand a good chance to avoid most reflex attacks, but Willpower, like most brick characters, is her Achilles’ heel. Given time and training, she should be able to over-come this, adding some discipline and mental focus.

Lifting: 400 lb. <- When fully boosted, she has an effective strength of 70, and can lift well over 6 tons. Monstrously powerful.

Complications:
Dependant NPC (James Whitman, Lawyer), Distinguishing Features (Cat Ears, Tail, Stature. Concealable, causes Strong Reaction.), Enemy (Kal'Thas, Interstellar Weapon Smuggler), English is 2nd Language (She can get 'hung up' on particularly difficult words/concepts), Unfamiliar with Earth Culture (), Watched: Space Police (If they haven't found her yet, they will doubtless be looking for her, and if she doesn't want to come back, may try to co-erce her.), Watched: US Government (The Government keeps close tabs on her, as she is an alien. )

She has a *ton* of Complications. The reason for this is three-fold.

First: She’s an alien, totally unfamiliar with Earth, who came here accidentally, and probably somewhat dramatically, depending on the GM’s whims.

That alone is the source of a few of her disadvantages. Her Distinguishing Features, namely that she’s a short alien chick  ensure that, barring heavy clothing and a hat, she can’t do many of the things a normal cop would be able to – imagine trying to tail someone when everyone around is staring, not to mention getting taken seriously.

Being Watched by the US Government is only natural – she is an alien on their soil, and so they are always keeping tabs on her activities. Could she be a precursor to an invasion? Or is she really just accidentally here? It is very easy to see them assigning a nosy bastard of an agent who gets in her way – constantly – as he investigates her, interrogates her associates, and so on.

If she ended up framed, or there was something like the Superhuman Registration Act, she’d have an incredibly hard time hiding.

English being her 2nd language is something that can go away with time – as she gets more and more familiar with it, she’ll be less likely to be confused about certain words. For example, inflammable and inflammatory, affect and effect, some trouble following directions.

As for her being unfamiliar with Earth culture, there are a number of ways this could be played – for humor, as in the ‘I didn’t know Earth people had separate bathroom facilities and such stupid things as ‘women must walk around with their shirts on at all times in public’, or it could be played seriously, as she mistakes something mundane for something dangerous – nothing as silly as vehicles being ‘monsters’, but something in line of, say, ‘I thought that guy in the ‘church’ was an extremist trying to brainwash people, what do you mean he’s allowed to do that?’ Which could cause *all* sorts of problems.

As for being watched by the Galaxy Police – she’s still technically a detective, and so a valued member of the force. They will, most likely, be searching for her, and, if she does not want to come back – say she’s gotten comfortable, or enjoys her new ‘team’ , they may assume she has been ‘brainwashed’ and attempt to take her back by force, which would likely come across as an ‘invasion’ by some governments.

Her Enemy is the entire reason she’s on Earth – while tailing him, she ended up thrown through a warp-field created by the unstable stuff said Enemy stole. Presumably, he crash-landed on Earth as well.
I have not written him up, but a good base would be the technological mastermind arche-type. In a stand-up fight against her, he would get pummeled into the floor without even a chance to defend himself. But, the smart guy he is, he’d have tech ready to deal with her.

Drawbacks:
Full Power (Physical Attacks ;Uncommon, Minor), Vulnerable (Sonic Attacks ;Uncommon, Minor)
Full Power represents her relative new-ness with the limits of the Human body. It’s not that she *can’t* hold back with any physical attacks, it’s that she doesn’t know just where to stop, and so could seriously end up hurting a normal human – with time (and experience points) she’ll easily be able to over-come this, but for now, it is there for a reason.

Her senses being as keen as they are, they’re susceptible to loud noises and flashes. She takes a -1 to saves against visual and auditory based attacks, because of this. Again, with time, training, and effort, she could learn to over-come this.

Cost Summary:
Ability 42 + Skills 18 (70 Ranks) + Feats 28 + Powers 36 + Combat 20 + Saves 8 - Drawbacks -2 = 150 / 150

Having an inside track on the plot and what to expect in the game, I can say that all of those could work, none any better than the other two. What I would suggest is you, Ix and if anyone else plays deversify. I have a fairly lengthy plot in mind with several diverse locations and foes in mind. Not one set of powers, or two or more heros with the same or almost same power set is going to do well in all of them.

New Character 1

Power Level: 10 (150 power points)

Abilities: STR 12(+1) DEX 16(+3) CON 16(+3) INT 14(+2) WIS 12(+1) CHA 14(+2)

Skills:

Feats: All-out Attack, Attack Focus (Ranged), Attack Specialization (Grenade Launcher), Defensive Roll 2, Diehard, Endurance, Equipment 7, Fearless, Improved Block, Improved Grab, Improved Grapple, Improved Initiative, Improved Sunder, Master Plan, Move-by Action, Precise Shot, Quick Draw, Ultimate Effort (Aim), Weapon Bind

He's a ranged combatant, first and foremost - possibly former military or something. Haven't figured that out yet. However, it's not like he's not used to his powers; he uses them, primarily, when he's forced into close combat, and tends to resort to simple brute force or attempting to tear away the enemy's weapon. He can shoot like a motherfucker, though, and is semidecent at planning.

Powers: Absorption (Physical) 5 (E:Energy Storage;PF:Slow Fade), Immovable 2, Immunity 2 (Critical Hits;F:Limited (Half Effect)(1)), Protection 3 (E:Impervious)

The Absorption is meant to Boost Density, though he has some elements of the Density power anyway - he holds his ground decently, and can shrug off light and machine pistol fire without even noticing. If I'm reading the Energy Storage thing right, then he could easily get Density going hard if things really went to hell - but only if the enemies were using things besides energy. Energy makes this guy go "ow shit what is this ow dammit."

Combat: Attack +6  Defense 14 (Flat-footed: 12)  Initiative +7
Grapple: +7 (Attack - +6,Strength - +1,Size - +0)

Saves: Toughness +6(+3) Fortitude +6 Reflex +6 Willpower +4

Lifting: 130 lb.
Equipment (35 points):
Undercover Shirt (3), Grenade Launcher (15), Heavy Pistol (Cool, Gas Mask (1), Flash Goggles (1), Knife (3)

He's either got some contacts, or a history of violence. Both, more than likely.

Cost Summary:
Ability 24 + Skills 0 (0 Ranks) + Feats 26 + Powers 35 + Combat 20 + Saves 9 = 114 / 150

Size: Medium
Description:
The other four Equipment points go toward additional types of grenade, so he's got all five types.

It's not done, but yeh. This is him so far.

Here's an older character, made entirely to grab things and make them wish they hadn't been grabbed.

Quote
Lionheart

Power Level: 10 (151 power points)

Abilities: STR 22(+6) DEX 10(+0) CON 16(+3) INT 12(+1) WIS 10(+0) CHA 10(+0)

Skills: Climb 10 (+16), Craft (Mechanical) 8 (+9), Intimidate 13 (+13), Knowledge (Streetwise) 4 (+5), Knowledge (Tactics) 6 (+7), Notice 8 (+8), Sense Motive 6 (+6)

Feats: All-out Attack, Attack Specialization (Strike), Chokehold, Critical Strike, Diehard, Endurance, Fearless, Improved Grab, Improved Grapple, Improved Initiative 2, Improved Pin, Improved Sunder, Improved Throw

Powers: Immovable 5 (E:Unstoppable), Leaping 2, Protection 10 (E:Impervious), Speed 2, Strike 10 (PF:Mighty), Super-Strength 5

Combat: Attack +10  Defense 17 (Flat-footed: 13)  Initiative +8
Grapple: +16 (Attack - +10,Strength - +6,Size - +0)

Saves: Toughness +13(+3) Fortitude +8 Reflex +4 Willpower +4

Lifting: 8 tons

Cost Summary:
Ability 20 + Skills 14 (55 Ranks) + Feats 14 + Powers 55 + Combat 34 + Saves 13 = 150 / 151

Size: BIG
Description:
A giant of a man, Little Jack Boggar isn't so little anymore - if he ever was; seven feet, eight inches tall, and almost five hundred pounds of muscle, thick skin, and an active attitude - which only makes it easier to see why he works in a machine shop, lifting massive amounts of weight for whatever reason. An unkempt mop of shaggy brown hair, tamed with a few bandanas stitched together with industrial-strength cord by a kind seamstress sits at the top of his head, a few escaping strands framing muddy blue eyes in a way that completely fails to be charming. His face is scarred, a bit; seems his skin wasn't always as strong as it is. A couple prison tats decorate his oversized frame; seems self-defense doesn't quite serve as so great a defense when you can throw a dumpster around, is all. He's never quite been the same size as the other guys, see, and people liked trying to knock him down a few pegs. But he's come through it all; even did a stint in the military, last time he defended himself a little too well. But that's beside the point - he's tired of all these villains running around in Freedom City. He might not have a costume fancier'n his toughest pair of jeans and a jacket with a lion's head printed on the back, but he's damn well going to show those villains whose city this is - Little Jack "Lionheart" Boggar's, that's whose.

Favorite character idea so far. Probably the one I'll go with.

Power Level: 10 (150 power points)

Skills: Acrobatics 6 (+10), Bluff 8 (+11), Computers 4 (+8), Concentration 2 (+4), Craft (Mechanical) 4 (+8), Craft (Structural) 4 (+8), Diplomacy 4 (+7), Disable Device 4 (+8), Escape Artist 4 (+8), Knowledge (Popular Culture) 4 (+8), Knowledge (Streetwise) 6 (+10), Notice 6 (+8), Profession (Courier) 4 (+6), Sense Motive 4 (+6), Sleight of Hand 6 (+10), Stealth 4 (+8), Survival 2 (+4)

He's been a thief, but only by necessity - doesn't mean he didn't get good at it. Still, he does his best to make his living using more legal skills, that could be used more by a courier - or a doer of odd jobs.

Feats: Accurate Attack, All-out Attack, Contacts, Defensive Attack, Defensive Roll 3, Distract (Bluff), Dodge Focus 3, Endurance, Equipment 4, Improved Block, Improved Initiative 2, Improved Throw, Improved Trip, Improvised Tools, Inventor, Jack-of-All-Trades, Luck 3, Master Plan, Move-by Action, Power Attack, Sneak Attack, Takedown Attack, Well-Informed

He's more or less survived by bullshitting, dirty fighting and running like a bitch when those failed - not that he's utterly incapable of taking a thug toe-to-toe. Making contacts, learning how to keep abreast of rumor, make something out of nothing - all part of the life of a courier-thief without a proper name.

Powers: Dimensional Pocket 2,
ESP (three sense types) 4 (F:Action (Move->Full),Distracting),
Flight 2,
Illusion (three sense types) 4 (F:Phantasms,Unreliable (Uses)),
Immunity 2 (Critical Hits;F:Limited (Half Effect)),
Magic 5
   AP-Blast 5 (E:Area - Explosion (50' Radius);F:Fades,Unreliable),
   AP-Concealment 5 (F:Partial),
   AP-Confuse 5 (PF:Subtle (Difficult to Notice)),
   AP-Nauseate 5 (E:Range (Touch->Ranged);F:Sicken),
   AP-Paralyze 5 (E:Range (Touch->Ranged);F:Slow)
 Protection 3 (E:Impervious),
Speed 4,
Teleport 8 (E:Attack;F:Action (Move->Standard),Unreliable) [A target with Teleport can't be attackported.]
Super-Senses 1 (Danger Sense)

He has a lot of powers, but he sucks with most of them. Inexperienced - but with some experience, he could be fairly dangerous. Until then, it's a really good thing his powers made him tougher than he used to be, what with all the walls he's likely going to smash into. Not a lot of his powers are directly dangerous, and he's a lot better with the less dangerous ones, anyway - easier to practice.

Combat: Attack +4  Defense 17 (Flat-footed: 17)  Initiative +12
Grapple: +6 (Attack - +4,Strength - +2,Size - +0)

He's not the best attacker, but he's learned the hell out of how to get out of the way of people trying to kill him (and how to get a good head start) - it happens more often than you might think, in his career.

Saves: Toughness +6(+3) Fortitude +4 Reflex +5 Willpower +3

He's a scrappy bastard.

Lifting: 175 lb.
Equipment (20 points):
Leather Jacket (1), Knife (3), Heavy Pistol (Cool, Cell Phone (1), Computer (Laptop) (1), Flashlight (1), Digital Audio Recorder (1), GPS Receiver (1), Multi-tool (1), Lock release Gun (1), Camera (1)

Mostly things you'd more or less expect someone who makes their living by moving things, delivering messages, etcetera, to have - the gun, knife, and lock-release gun are the only real oddities, but after the first couple scraps he got into, he figured he might as well be prepared. Then the lock-picking gun is from when he had to work as a thief.

Drawbacks:
Full Power (Speed, Flight, and Blast are all difficult for him to control, at the moment - he's either not using them, or they're on at full blast.;Uncommon,Minor)

He's inexperienced, so he doesn't have a lot of control yet over the more abrupt abilities, like these.

Cost Summary:
Ability 36 + Skills 19 (76 Ranks) + Feats 34 + Powers 43 + Combat 16 + Saves 3 - Drawbacks -1 = 150 / 150

I like this character. He's original and at least semi-uniqueish, as much so as a superhero can be these days, considering just about everything has been done before. I even thought of a specific scenario in the plot where he could really shine. Am I going to tell you when, where, or how? ..........  Cool No.

Yay, I'm glad you like him. Also, probably better that you don't tell. More interesting that way.

He's not done obviously. What's mostly left are his spells and the broken sword device. I'll do all that tomorrow. I just wanted to get something in the thread. I have another guy I'll also do tomorrow.

Our hero has left us, the other towns say. Over a millenia ago the great lion god Paleo fell to the dark demon Nerydon in their cataclysmic battle. In his final moments Paleo blessed a family of mortals, sowing in them the seed of power that would let them resist Nerydon at his return. They cut from the dead god's fang a sword with which to slay the demon, but he surprised them and awoke early. He flung the prince and his sword unto the aether and slew his father. The royal family has perished, and I fear we are now cursed to a world ruled by darkness.

Hiro is a young prince from an alternate dimension who was flung into the future, where my evil is law. now the fool seeks to return to the past, and undo the evil that is aku flung from his home by ye classic evil antagonist. Well actually Nerydon threw the sword away and he chased it knowing it was their only hope, but you know. Hiro comes from a classic NES-style RPG universe and operates on its principles, although his appearance and the looks of his effects are all realistic.

The sword shattered on impact with the other reality and scattered. the DM can do whatever he wants with the pieces; it  sets him up for questing, beyond just seeking a way to get back home. He'd get his ass plowed by Nerydon if he tried to fight him right now anyway.

Oh, I should note he does have the hilt though. Until reassembled the sword is relatively useless.

By absorbing and refining the vital forces said to be in the air, Esbern can increase some of his physical statistics. He can do the same for others, provided they don't mind old man breath.

Breathsteal: Drain (Constitution) 10 (E: Linked [Boost AP: Con; Usable Seperately] F: Limited [Via mouth]) (10pp)
When an opponent's mouth is opened, Esbern can attempt to drain some of the vitality out of them, also increasing his own as a side effect.

Esbern Snare; a stubborn and strong-willed individual who has some trouble dealing with change. When his wife, a partner of 28 years, died about 2 decades prior, he was hardly ready to give her up. Rather than curse the doctors or disease or sulk over the headstone, he decided to do something about it. He spent 18 years studying various philosophies, sciences, occult lore, and eastern ideals before perfecting his technique, the Breath of Life. He took a lantern out to the grave one night and performed the gruesome task of unearthing his beloved, but to his dismay he found he had only revived a mindless corpse; her soul had passed on. Forced to accept her passing, Esbern took the first few steps on what will be a long road to becoming a more accepting individual.

Also he hates black people.

James Walford is the victim of a universal joke. Born into a family of powerful psychics, he awaited the day he would awaken his own powers eagerly. When he was 16 he tripped into a massive fire-ant hill while hiking. His powers manifested but, either due to contact or for self defense, took on a wholly unusual nature. He became Antman. Despite being somewhat ashamed of himself, James still tries to live up to his previous expectations. He's at least got some powers; he'll try and do what he can with them.

> Abilities: James has the strength, dexterity and constitution of an ant scaled up.
> Skills: He works as an exterminator. He saves what ants he can be shooing them elsewhere.
> Feats: James is not the most skilled combatant. He'll work on it. Honest.
> Powers: James can morph into an insectoid form, although his face remains largely recognizable. Features include his arms, antennae and shell.

Say what you will about insect communication. The fact remains they do communicate and often in complex ways--look into bee communication. Besides the fact one of the power options is to communicate with plants so, despite their absent intelligence, ants shouldn't be a problem.

Besides all the other basic abilities granted from ant-yness, he has two particular ones. The first is that he can summon a shitton of ants of variable types; black ants to army ants to bullet ants (i'll figure out additional costs for their traits if you'd like.) Shitton is me-ese for "about 25,000." This both is and isn't as much as it sounds; ants are fairly small after all.

The second is the Ant God. I treated the base creature as being medium size before growth for two reasons; it seemed to make sense based on the power, being a somewhat unique organism, and 2: the monstrous insect template in the book (234) has growth 4, 18 strength. A regular insect being one size larger and gaining that much strength doesn't make much sense.

Darkheart is an african-american man in his late twenties with long, black hair and a fit form. He wears very little clothing; stitched cloth sufficient to make for a pair of shorts. His most distinguishing features are his eyes--seemingly empty save for the star-like burning centers, but speckled with infinitely more in the blackness should one take a closer look--and the black slit in the center of his chest. When opened one can see what seems like an entire universe inside the wound, with stars, galaxy clusters and nebulae. The feature presumably serves as the origin of his name.

Darkheart's life history is sparsely detailed. It's thought he was once a certain Jarret Wilson who grew up on the east coast. A curious mind and interest in worldwide cultures led him to becoming an exchange student. He went to India, part his time largely unaccounted for. He returned several times until last friends and family knew he was working there with an unspecified job. A few years later, Darkheart first appeared in the area.
Darkheart himself came to be when a spiritual mentor in India endowed him with the Akasha; a mystical substance thought to be the primordial element of the cosmos. In seeking understanding and completion he explored his nature with the belief that he was a microcosm of the universe--a sort of reflection of it--a trait which he came to call Mind Diving. He came to do this more and more, merging with the universe, until at one point it was literally all he did.
Nowadays he's moving again, studying the concrete and complex with the belief that it will lead him to even greater understanding.

> His skills reflect some of his physical abilities, but showcase his great ability to concentrate, his philosophical knowledge (philosophy should really be allowed to have Wis as an alternative bonus) and his phenomenal understanding of the universe.

> Revised. By putting less emphasis on his physical capabilities I arrived at the powers I generally wanted. He's now more versatile with his powers, which have divided into those that use the void, those that use cosmic energy, and misc fitting extras. Probably still a little feat heavy. I whore them too much. His saves are pretty weak, but this can be mended somewhat by boost if he's forced into closer range. Fulfilling this concept seems to require more than what's allowed by PL 10, but then that's not surprising given that he's some sort of pseudo-cosmic being.

Bio:
Peter Cullen was a test pilot for the United States Air Force before he became Vanguard. It’s commonly believed by those who know who he is that his powers are in direct relation to his former career.

Cullen was born a mutant, he was destined to develop some form of enhanced ability or power in his life and a traumatic event early on in his career was what finally brought it to the surface. While on a routine flight, the jet’s engine failed and his plane began to plummet to the Earth. Panicked, his powers erupted into being and acted to save him in an act of self preservation. His ability to manipulate kinetic energy allowed him to absorb the g-force of the crash with only minor injuries.

Notes:
The force field and armored jumpsuit increase the toughness save from 2 to 15, five above the cap, so it’s capped to 10 and can increase with the game’s level.

Vanguard should be effective in a close range capacity, all of the blasts, save for the one granted from Kinetic Control have a reduced range; granted this could have been achieved with Strike, but for role playing purposes they are each going to be Blast.

Paralyze is a good enemy debuff, likely going to be used for tougher adversaries and Transfer should work to debuff the enemies and boost Vanguard simultaneously, there’s a chance Paralyze will be dropped due to having Transfer to use the points for some other aspect of the character.

Muldoon, Grant only to his closest friends, was once the most expensive tracker on the planet. He never bothered to ask questions about what or who he was tracking or why, all he cared about was doing the job and getting paid.

He prided himself on never having failed a contract, and the day he finally did was a day that changed his life forever after. Tracking a fugitive resistance leader through the wilderness in Africa for a tyrant, the man in question laid a trap for Muldoon. When it sprung it left the world’s greatest tracker in a life threatening situation; his legs broken and his body covered in lacerations, if not for the care of a local village shaman Muldoon would likely have died there.

During his recovery, Muldoon revealed to the shaman the story leading up to when he was discovered by his savior and his regret at his failure. The man took one last pity upon Muldoon and used an ancient ritual to imbue upon him the abilities of the greatest feats of the animal kingdom.

Alright. Now we have enough players. Everyone just needs to settle on and finalize one of thier character ideas so that I, the GM may know what to work with. The game will be on Wesndays, starting at Midnightish Eastern Standard Time on Iron City. It could start as soon as this week, if everyone gets thier stuff ready. If not let's shoot for next week.

Favorite character idea so far. The one I'll go with. (barring sudden bursts of genius)

Tags

Power Level: 10 (150 power points)

Abilities: STR 14(+2) DEX 18(+4) CON 16(+3) INT 18(+4) WIS 14(+2) CHA 16(+3)

Powers: Dimensional Pocket 2,
ESP (three sense types) 4 (F:Action (Move->Full),Distracting),
Flight 2,
Illusion (three sense types) 4 (F:Phantasms,Unreliable (Uses)),
Immunity 2 (Critical Hits;F:Limited (Half Effect)),
Magic 5
   AP-Blast 5 (E:Area - Explosion (50' Radius);F:Fades,Unreliable),
   AP-Concealment 5 (F:Partial),
   AP-Confuse 5 (PF:Subtle (Difficult to Notice)),
   AP-Nauseate 5 (E:Range (Touch->Ranged);F:Sicken),
   AP-Paralyze 5 (E:Range (Touch->Ranged);F:Slow)
 Protection 3 (E:Impervious),
Speed 4,
Teleport 8 (E:Attack;F:Action (Move->Standard),Unreliable) [A target with Teleport can't be attackported.]

Grapple: +11 (Attack - +4,Strength - +7,Size - +0)

Saves: Toughness +8 Fortitude +8 Reflex +8 Willpower +5

Lifting: 5 tons

Cost Summary:
Ability 46 + Skills 17 (65 Ranks) + Feats 30 + Powers 34 + Combat 16 + Saves 7 = 150 / 150

But, the smart guy he is, he’d have tech ready to deal with her.

also Icon why is everything max rank? You've left yourself with no variety, no room to grow, no nothing but 'yeah everything is the strongest possible'.

Also, your Sweep thing is one point over the limit for the array, (it costs 11 due to the power feat).
