Said it in the beginning. This thread is uneccessary, hence my lack of involvment in it. This soap-box posting is ridiculous. I continue reading things that are reiterations of shit that's been said and done. In the end, when all's said and done, more is said than done.
Staff is doing their job, now more noticeably than before, and I think we can all agree that this is getting nowhere when it's simply a bunch of arguing and debating between player who won't reach a compromise on the subject (at least anytime soon).
If staff is being bright, then they are not intending for this thread to have players reach a compromise. Not every player is present. They will be using this thread to get input from players in a venue they wouldn't if they simply asked for a survey of some sort, thus they can make their own judgment calls based off the arguments given here. |

Yar...might be nice if someone had or has been doing that. Would give us -as a whole- a decent foundation to work from (even if it is the third attempt X_x). Maybe it's just me, but I really don't see a point in participating and actively attempting to change something a third time around, when it's failed twice already. Things seem not to have changed too much, for better or worse. I am an Arena regular (for those that didn't already know) and have argued both sides of the coin.
It's like sitting in a rocking chair with this thread. Gives yeh something to do, but goin back and forth won't be gettin' yeh anywhere.
I'll just keep RPing the way I always have. Someone send me a whisper if there's anything on this thread that might actually be interesting to read.
EDIT: We've covered that before, too, Ami. Staff is going to do what they want, regardless of what the fraction of RPers on this thread say. I think we were lucky to get the initial mod trial, and had genuinely decent candidates.

Also comparing the Forest to the Arena is a really bad argument, as your comparing a room with relatively low traffic to a room with relatively high traffic and an established user base of regulars.

 being wasted isn't exactly an excuse for being stupid and ban evading... and the (alleged) numerous accounts of him doing that since his ban couldn't all be done while he was intoxicated... Never played Rogue Trader, played Dark Heresy once though... is it any good? |

I already knew that he wasn't dumb all the time, I spent enough time talking to him before his ban to realize that. :3 It did always surprise me when he'd come out with something that wasn't troll-y and stupid though, and every time I felt dumb for feeling surprised.

Now Kade... picture that this thread IS the arena, my warhammer devolvement was just exactly what the whole problem with the room is. I came in and started up a conversation that had nothing to do with the purpose of this thread. OOC banter has nothing to do with the purpose of the arena. and just like the conversation on warhammer has no place in this thread, ooc banter has no place in the arena. Get the drift... if OOC really doesn't bother you, because you can stay on topic despite distraction, then you should have no problem debating on the arena situation while me, ix, and sid get down to talkin' some warhammer. |

True, it's never been about anyone just the arena, an IC room with a major OOC problem. If I cared less about the way things should be, and I had just continued with my OOC* banter in this thread, then it would have been just like the arena almost always is, a massive wall of OOC posting with occasional bits of rp breaking up the mind numbing tedium of pointless ooc crap. We have two, count them two, default ooc rooms that you can go to and chat up your friends in, there is no reason to be doing it in an IC room, at all, at any point in time, whether rp is happening or not. The one single exception to this, is when something that has happened IC needs to be clarified by OOC conversation, and even then, that can happen in whisper. * or off topic Edit: by you, I don't mean you specifically but rather the userbase as a whole. |
