    Hi.
/whois NaerhallticRP  A fight to preserve a culture. The new age is trying to erase a indigonous population. A fight for the preservation of a way of life, a land and its animales, and the souls of those who invade it.

Anyones ideas will be welcome and implemented, providing they run parrellel with this setting. I would love  good heads to help me build more of this world I have created.

Anyone who wants to help or join, leave a note here on the thread. Thanks.

Dont care much other than that. Be nice to people. Good roleplay please. You know the drill.

THIS IS THE HUB OF THIS ROLEPLAY
The map, rules and regulations, background and lore, characters  and everything else will be here, in this thread. Thanks.

The setting is an alternate timeline. A bit of post-neolithic and neandrathal, LIVING people. Those that have chosen to go back to natures ways, and re find themselves as their ancestors.  They are human, but they do not live like " nun-taint.("bad taint" or "evil taint") The Others.

These newer humans have adopted stone to build buildings and ships, tools and simple machinery, fleeing from their land and finding Naer-hall-tic(the landmass)to be a good way to start a new, free nation.  Hundreds of thousands of newer men betrayed their country, and moved into this land from desperation. They find the local population, a bit... slow, and savage. They see no reason not to hunt for sport, or respect animales and spirits. They take the indigonous population for undeducated monsters, even though they used the help of the LandPeople to survive.

It was many many years ago when the "Tainted"("newer people" "newer person") came with their ships, fleeing their homeland and ruining the land of the main population... and the

... savages... dont like the outsiders.
"Naer-hal-tic"

Translated in common as "Land for People." The land is alive, and its people "Hall-naer-tic"(translates: "People of the Land", "People for the Land") are an indigonous population of humanoids, fighting to preserve their culture and way of life. Connected intamitely with the land and its beasts, using both for survival and life instead. They refuse the advancements of people, fearing that all culture will be lost in a storm of metal window in stone buildings, politics and emergence of new faith threatning their own. They hate the shiny amor of the soilder guards, and the way they contain fire in glass carriers.

Because of the ancient lifestyle, in confliction with time and the way humans were then, the People of the Land ( or  "Hall-naer-tic" )
have been forced to keep fighting for thier way of life as a dieing breed. Their cultures, their legacy and spirits and way of harmony with the rest of the humans, will die out, they feel.

Since the "Turning",( destruction of land and people, greed toward  the natives, and the punishments that followed) the indigonous have kept a much tighter leash on the new parasites. Thier  morales wouldnt allow them to turn away a stranger who needed help, but that does not mean "nun-taint"[/u](or "bad-taint" "evil taint") would ever recover their stregenth. The people here meant to stay, had the means to destroy the taint [/u], and could suck the very life from the new humans...

Hunting laws and poilcies were made, as well as a tightly organized, completely new heirarchy among the natives. To act as liason between the newcommers and the indigonous people, they created a network of scouts, ambassadors, spies, thieves and assassins. "yay-taint"("good taint" "tolerable taint") or, a new human that has been found and taken in by the People for Land, turned and welcome into their lives as equals. Never in rank, not being born to the population would prevent them from reaching the highest levels of clan rank. This was a security caution by the " Chief Naer" , to prevent his plans for war, if needed, from falling into the hands of his enemies.

Culture, heairchahy and rank, beast and tree.. food and survival. These were the ways of this land, and  the "hall-naer-tic are not going to loose their ways of life...
Over their dead bodies.

"TAINT"

By itself, means "tainted one" or a new human comming to this land for safety from their home country. Called "taint" by the natives. Fitting. The advancements, useless killing and destroying of land and beast... The Taint are hated for their comming to the land. They did bring sharper weapons, clothes, chemicals, and other interesting things to the "hall-naer-tic". But they were not welcome! After years and years of living in harmony together, based on set rules to be followed by every Taint, put in place, aeons ago, by the older ancestors of the land,
...Taint masters started getting greedy....

And it has cost them. They have many rules placed against them now, and, generally fearing the native population, the taint have become restricted.

Advanced.
The people of the newer citys behave in newer ways, believeing in a higher power alien to the land, and are used to their ability to carry on. Trashing the land, burning and pillaging when they wanted from the local population...  They brought an extensive army, with more weaponry, tools, food and attractions for the natives, laughing hard whenever one was discovered.
They did not like the way that they had been treated, but some of them...the ones who were given to the land, thought it was surely possible to live in harmony with these simple humans. And they were right.

Taint that went off alone at night... they knew that they might be caught, and turned into "yay-taint", never seen or heard from again by friends and family...

But they also knew it was an old wives tale. Some of the newly turned people did come back. In fact,  it was required of them...

The people of this race believe in finer dress, more advanced weaponry and finer living. Wine, smoking and pubs came with them.

The heirachy here is different. They have one man in charge of everyone. A dictator ship. Unlike "hall-naer-tic", the man resided over and told TWO people what to do. It is a dictatorship. The Commandant, and HighWoman. Commandant, be it male or female, is responsible for all things combat, and relation to the indigonous. The HighWoman handles all doestic matters. Food and clothing, medicine and teaching, raising of young.

Heriarchy in their way of living means almost nothing. If your not the commandant's mates, or the HighWomans unders, you were nothing. Like everyone else. A worker. A commoner.

LOOKING FOR A MAP DESIGN
Should look like it above. Scoll right to find map key

Its a large mandlass. A large Icecap, several tens of miles wide, spans the top. There is only one small village.

Below that, lies the great mountian range of the northwest, surronding a (still) active volcano. The lands around it, are mostly rock and obsidian. The Taint have two strongholds on this place, where as the Naerhall have several villages and gathering deep into the mountians, and even near the base of the volcano.  Here, the people are great crafters, riders of "Amm-asp-hall"[/u]( "flying beast for the people)) and long idolized, ancient rock dwellers.

To the east lies several islands under local control. Taint have little influence except for trade ships and other marine matters. Below these, and a bit southwest of "Crescent" island, lies the cold tundra plains. Isolated, great hunters live here, having solitude and plenty to time alone for the small clans. Home to many wolves and other "naer"[/u] predators.

South of this, lie the great rivers and lake. And marsh or swampy territory. The marsh hold mysterious tribes famous for poisions, trickery and madness. A place of magic, or daft. Constant, poisionous fums in the middle of the swamp keep Tainted away.

Its swamp and marsh land from the amount of water flowing in from the great river and lake. It spreads into tiny rivers throughout the land. Furthur west, are wood lands and grass lands, where the majority of LandPeople stay. It is north of a small mountian range, and just out of the small desert to the west.

The desert is only seperated from the sea by cliffs and grassland. Home to many gypsies, cut throats and otherwise. A place to hear the news, trade for many diverse, local produced goods, and a beautifull sand palace.

South and more in the middle, on the bottom of the map, lies a smaller moutian range, and inlet, cliffs blocking the ocean, and a small, long island. Most of this land is under Taint influence. Home to the Others.
