Etoile Galaxy is an old RP that is being revived. The actions of characters in the past have determined the present state of this fictional scifi/fantasy setting. Etoile Galaxy cherishs characters of all types and races and presents little to no restrictions on character creation and design (as long as they are not god-like or god-modish). You can even come up with an entirely new race and introduce them into the circle of events.
Plot>> The plot of Etoile Galaxy revolves around the Ra-Shi, which bears similarites in appearence and behavior to species such as the Zerg, the Beast, The Borg, and even the Flood. The Ra-Shi in it's basic form is a techno organic virus, which has the ability to subvert living cells and technolgy. This allows the Ra-Shi to infest and take over anything from individual life form, entire starships, and in some cases entire populated worlds. The war against the Ra-Shi has been going on for nearly a thousand years with no end in sight. However, a band of galactic adventurers are coming close to discovering the true origins of this nightmarish foe and finding a way to destroy it forever.
The plot may have crossovers from known video games, anime, and some movies however players are encouraged to be original. If you want to introduce a character based on a pre-existing genre please ask first.
Sub Plots>> Along the flow of the main plot there will be "Sub Plots". "Sub Plots" can be anything, meeting a new player's character (and perhaps helping them save their world from something evil, etc.), or perhaps introducing a villain or enemy faction causing trouble ( super villains, pirates, cultists, for example ). These are usually made by players and sometimes myself to keep things interesting.
Setting>> Etoile Galaxy takes place in various regions of space and on many exotic worlds; All of which have unique properties from which characters can be derived. This ranges from complete fantasy worlds (where magic and mysticism is well and alive) to advanced worlds (where technology is the way of life). There are even modern worlds very much like our present. Which world or setting we start on is completely up to the participants.
Roleplay and Posting Order>> Etoile Galaxy is an Action roleplay. In other words, there will be a lot of scenes involving combat, just like an action movie. There, of course will be social scenes, humor, and character interaction at appropriate times, but I will try not to bore you to death. All NPCs (none-player character) may be auto-hit unless specified otherwise (such as for boss type characters and characters belonging to other players). You also must have another player's consent before acting upon their character in ways that would alter them or cause any permanent changes (such as death, enhancement, infecting, possession, etc etc))
Posting Order in Etoile Galaxy will be within proximity. If two characters are away from the main group, there is no need for them to wait for the turn of others. This is not very difficult to follow, just know where everyone is. You can also keep a notecard list of people within your character's range of interaction so you know what the post order is (You can even remind anyone who is confused)). This is so we can speed things along and keep the story and plot moving.
Post length is something I am not very strict on. As long as you can form a complete sentence that describes your actions clearly then that is all you will need. You can go into extreme detail only when necessary, such as describing scenery or the appearence of a character. However, I am not going to sit here and wait for you to write a paragraph about the movement of every strand of hair on your friggin head as a gentle breeze blows by, it is a complete waste of my time and the time of others. Post length does not reflect your skill as a roleplayer, in my opinion; However, Grammar and Clarity do.
Known Races and Information>> The RP profile will provide absolutely no information on existing races and factions. All of this is for your character to discover and learn by meeting and encountering others. If I just tell you everything then there won't be much material for RP. Discovery is part of the fun in Etoile Galaxy.
