Sid.. didnt you get banned for evading Hatter's ignore? You were harassing him and he put you on ignore so you came in on a different name and harassed him more? Then you got banned for that, probably a short ban.. but then evaded the ban and KEPT evading the ban.. hence.. you are now PERMABANNED.
And the main thing Sid did for tK, more than anyone on here is start SHIT, Harrass people, troll and be an all around pain in the ass. Which.. half the people love.. and half the people hate.
Some of us have found it much more pleasant that he is not around. And once you start unpermabanning people because off some thread saying.let him back in.. then you might as well chuck the AUP.
My ban was for something that wasn't in the AUP. And just because you saw me dork on people in the Lobby doesn't mean I didn't do shit around the chat. I used to RP a good deal and tried my hand many times at running games/playing in many games, as well as starting/playing in quite a few settings people came up. Also, I put in a lot of work in trying to get the AUP revised into a better document and even went as far to try and edit most of it and put it up for suggestions. I also modded for a short (and somewhat controversial) time before asking to be demoted. It's a direct, one-way trip straight to Hell.
If Sid comes back, so does... Fenix
Slippery slope, lol. there's a ton of people who've been banned in the past and resurface later, you know. It doesn't mean you suddenly have to let pedophiles like Fenix and Dalton back in. ... come on, you don't really think this is going to actually cause anyone to get unbanned, do you? There could be a thousand votes for it, and it wouldn't matter.
As for the Fenix thing, Sid's ban was somewhat controversial. Fenix's was... decidedly not so. Shhhhh, don't let them in on the jokes ill consider popping into the chat from time to time if sid is unbanned. clearly the staff wants this, and will unban sid now this is like a politican getting support from prolific baby murdering KKK members |

Sid is an idiot. Pretty sure this is one of those irrefutable facts. The worst part is he's a willful idiot. But don't let that blind you, he did a whole lot of work around this place -- some of which he mentioned earlier in this thread.
Now, like most reasonable folks, I hate him and I wish he would be on fire forever, but if we're being honest, he didn't (or at least shouldn't) have been banned for evading someone's ignore. While, yes, it's a dick move, it doesn't seem to be against any rules*. He was banned for ban evading, you know that thing we're not allowed to discuss. That thing that most people know how to do. That thing that, more than anything else, is an issue with the site and not the users. Sure, it's against the rules, but it's not as though he went and broadcast to the world how to hack the site. His actions, while perhaps childish and definitely foolish, I don't think warrant a permanent banishment.
*Alright, so harassment is against the rules, but at some point it has to become a responsibility of the one being harassed. It doesn't take much work at all to either log off, go to a private room or just not reply to a person. The ignore command, at best, is a temporary deterrent and a bit of false hope at worst.
Anyway, that said. ...fags.

When I was banned there was no rule that says you can't log in another name and there was no definition of harassment. I don't know if this is still the case. Not to mention what I said that was taken as "harassment" was pretty tame in comparison to what others in the room (Seldian, etc) were saying in regards to me, which I always found funny. That usual bit of favoritism that slips out. Thanks for the kind words though <3 |

This is the entirety of the rule about harassment. I find it far too subjective, though that's not really important and it's not like I haven't said it before. |

Of course, I'm fairly certain the AUP has undergone at least one, possibly minor, rewrite since that particular incident. Still seems... incomplete, though, that particular rule. I guess maybe getting around the ignore might be roughly equivalent to calling somebody who's blocked your number by calling from somebody else's number, but that generally leads to a kick, I'm pretty sure, and I don't remember the exact steps taken in your case. |

I don't really know much about the ban, and from what I heard it doesn't seem good on Sid's behalf (sorry bro). But I'd like to point out how ^^^^^^ is a terrible analogy and really fails to touch on the heart of the point of this thread. This isn't a mall, he's not jumping in anyone's face. It's text on a screen and it's more than easy to just ignore. It's not as if anything he was saying was true or mattered at all. I could be biased because i'm dealing with a permaban myself. But I honestly don't like the concept of permabans for people like Sid. TK is a pretty outstanding place, good or bad we all grow on each other and become a tight knit community. People like sid and others like him who stir up shit and goof around are a part of what makes the community interesting. It's not a particularly good part of the community, but it's not really hurting anyone. Griefers are inevitable, it's just a part of the online experience wherever you go. I don't like the idea of people getting permabanned for "harassment". People make fun of each other on the internet, it happens all the time. It's never going to end. No matter how many people get permabanned. That's just how it is. I feel like stuff like this causes more drama than necessary. Sid probably deserves a ban for what he did, but a permaban? even for repeat offenders... I don't know. Just feel like people shouldn't take things like this so seriously. It really takes the fun out of everything. Avoiding "harassment" online is beyond easy. Not caring about it even easier. But like I said. I'm not speaking on this ban specifically. I haven't even bothered to read through this whole thread. Just sort of adding my 2 cents for what it's worth. Everyone's entitled to an opinion, ja? Edit: and for the record. I voted "I'm gay" for teh lulz. And because I like men. If I could have voted for both, I would have. |
