I want to know why was stupidicus not warned to stop first by Drew? Why didn't she get kicked instead? How did it go straight to being blindsided by a 30 day ban? Especially when she was warned by the room's moderator to take it to whispers and she did.
I feel like the ban is only because people got butthurt, not because anyone was offended by her language. I bet you if Stupidicus didn't say she'd leave the roleplay this all would have never happened.

She didn't get banned for language, people. She got banned for sexual acts. The mods are also allowed to act as they see fit, so, well, if the mod didn't think a /kick or a warning would be appropriate, they can do that. Also, this whole "she got banned for language" thing that some people seem to be ignoring what the mod that actually did the banning to comment on instead is why I pointed out the actual moderator that did the banning's very own post on the subject.

Furthermore, of course the AUP is flawed. I defy you to point out a flawless system of rules, laws, or even simply a system of governance that is not in some way flawed. Everything is flawed. Nothing is perfect. That's why the AUP occasionally changes.
Or, what, did you think that didn't apply to internet communities? That some bunch of random assholes in a chatroom would stumble upon the perfect government, the perfect laws, the perfect goddamn anything? It's as possible as anything else... and as exceedingly unlikely.
That said, back to the AUP. It may need updating; I've always been in favor of having examples-from-precedent (actual quotes, with the names and other personal information stricken from the record, maybe) of what constitutes a baseline violation of each part of the AUP, myself. Not concerned with guidelines for punishment - that's the province of the mods. I think, as a user, that it would be nice if there were delineations of the very lightest breaking of each particular rule; this would give people a better idea of what was going to be considered an issue if they reported it to the mods, hopefully making things a bit less awful on them.
Anyway, baselines. I'm a bit overcaffeinated right now, but I trust you're capable enough to not get confused. The way I'd figure out a baseline is to find which mod is hardest on which type of thing and ask them for where it should be; that way, nobody can say 'wah, the other mods were easier on me about it' without having the response be 'Well, that's because they were lenient.' But, you know, that's just me.
Especially the harassment rule, come to think of it. There's no explanation of what, precisely, constitutes "alright, now this has passed being random goofery." I've asked about it, and the response tends to be 'well, it's pretty much common sense. We don't need to explain it.' I don't really agree, as it's one of those very subjective things; some people might be touchy, some people might not. Some people might claim harassment if somebody starts mocking them for some random thing (like, without actually asking the person to stop beforehand, that kind of thing?) while some people might just keep /ignoring over and over all night long. Besides, if I'm going to suggest setting baselines, it wouldn't do to skip one, would it?

I can't recall anyone doing anything like Stupidicus was doing in the Lobby, at least, either. I don't go venturing out into the other public rooms very often, though, as I don't often RP. So maybe this stuff's happening in other rooms. I know the Lobby is, as has been complained, the place several mods hang out, of course.
