I seem to recall seeing a thread somewhere about room art -that is, art inserted into the /describes to provide a visual example of the room. I don't, however, remember what happened to this.

I'mma go ahead and repropose this. I certainly don't know if the mods would actually use said pictures in /describes, but this board is completely dead and I think it'd be a good activity to get some life here again.

So, what do you people think? If you like the idea, chuck down some work and show us what you've got - if you could label the room you're trying to depict, that'd be great. Default rooms only, of course, as the creators of user-rooms can get art elsewhere, I'm sure.

I wish I had artistic talent. I would so go ape-**** for the arena. I might, however, do something with photoshop if I ever get the program again.

Could be a great project done cooperatively with the TK group on DeviantArt since we have so many artists at our disposal who might be willing to work for free (Myself included)! I like this idea.

So, uh, if you want to do some room art, do some room art. Maybe it'll get used, though we'd have to ask Webby about it.

It would be really interesting (though probably ridiculous, resources and time-wise, I know) to have the room art actually be the chat's background. To see arena posts posted on top of an image of a coliseum, Forest posts that show up on an image of a forest or trees. Also, I highly support the art-in-descriptions idea for permanent rooms--especially the Pub.

Floorplans, schematics even, may help to understand the various rooms.

But I don't think that TK's software supports backgrounds as such. It's a bit too simple.

Of course, people could also try to help Web and Rook finally get IronCity running.

Web should totally just forcibly funnel us all into Iron City. He's got the authority.

Would these be actual images displayed in a room greet, or just a link to one?
