Alright so I check my facebook today only to find that my cousin Morgan sent me a message with a video attached. A video labled "It Gets Better" by Rebecca Drysdale. Now, I'm not really one for the "It gets better, cheer up emo kid" sentiment but for some reason this song she sent me really hit home. Maybe I have a soft spot for the specific subject matter of the song, which is basically all about getting shit for being gay/bi/transgendered, but I thought this video was pretty cool and figured I'd risk ridicule from the usually callous denizens of the tK OOC forums to share it with those of you who might enjoy this song.
CLICK HERE FOR THE SONGAbove is the link to the song. I'll be the first to admit, the song is pretty corny. But the linguistics of the lyrics are a little above the normal cliche "cheer up emo-kid" song now a days. And to be totally honest (call me sentimental) but I sort of wish I had a song like this that I could resonate with when I was in High School.
Now this is the internet, gay jokes are frequent and hardly few and far in between. This thread is a reminder to everyone that stuff like that can be a serious problem for some people, especially young people. I also know most of you are well out of high school, but maybe share it with someone you care about who's having a rough time.
For the record; I fully expect to get flamed for this. lol. Enjoy.
Edit: Ha, also I think one of the reasons I did enjoy this more so than most of corny bullcrap feelbetter songs, is the liberal use of explicit language. My favorite line by far.
"One day you’ll look back and you won’t give a ****
When your swimming through your p***y vault like Scrooge ****ing McDuck.
And when you’re snatching your first Grammy -- super glammy lookin’ slick --
It won’t be much time till they get in line for a chance to suck your ****."
I also had no idea that Obi-Wan was a gay.
