A lot of eye strain is caused by the closeness of the tasks we're doing, not necessarily what color it is (although some people do have color sensitivity, not trying to undermine them). Your eye muscles have to work extra hard to see up close, so they get tired. I guess my point is that if you change tK's color, it's going to change the problem, not solve it.

Eye exercises! Learn them! Do them!

CC hurts my eyes. TK does not.

I keep my monitor on the second lowest brightness setting. It's really not as bad as people make it out to be.

I want to be able to set personal backgrounds for TK's roleplaying window, or a color change option.

If you go to your browser's settings, you can change the default text and background color for all pages you browse, problem solved. Just change it back to whatever when your done roleplaying.

However, my background idea is that there's a little drop down where you can select a color from a palette, or link to an image to fill or tile the background. Leave the visible text issues to the person choosing their own image.

For example, I'd get a photo of a forest, use a simple photo editor to brighten it so that text colors show up easily, and call that good. Upload it to Photobucket or whatever, and select it as a background once I login to the chat.

Anywho, just my thoughts, and randomly throwing them out there.

This idea, while it sounds good, would require an entirely new chat system. PHPMyChat is not capable of doing what you want.

I think the TK background should somehow incorporate a reclining, naked man.  Our culture seems to be losing its artistic touch, of late, and should be gently nudged back towards its roots.

I honestly prefer dark backgrounds. I started RPing on battle.net, where the background was ALWAYS black with white text. I set up my mIRC so it's black with slightly grey text. It's bright enough so it's easy to read, but doesn't hurt my eyes.

I've actually mentioned eye-strain from tK to my friends before. It does bother me, and it would be pretty simple to just make a second skin that's darker. Literally just... Copy-paste the style sheet and change the hex values for the colors.

I'd appreciate it, anyway.
