Word. Who uses Google Chrome? Yay or nay? Don't quote me on this, but Web said if something like 20% of the users here use Google Chrome he'd painstakingly build a version of the webchat that works well with Google Chrome. I'm not saying he has to get on that, but I'm just seeing what the figures are like for people who use the Keep.

I use Chrome for things I don't get linked on tK, mostly. And for things that aren't tK.

RP is a hobby; it is nothing more and nothing less. It is comparable to scrapbooking, model-railroad, gardening, etc. It is a self-indulgent, nigh narcissistic practice that yields no tangible benefits to anyone in any real, practical applications, and serves little more than to justify the egos of those involved, and occasionally impress someone who is equally self-indulgent and narcissistic. Taking it too seriously is a waste of time.

I've found that internet explorer is the only reliable browser when it comes to refreshing TK automatically.

But I use firefox for most everything else  :/

Chrome tends to crash on me, alot.

Been using my sister's macbook a lot lately and notice Safari doesn't automatically refresh either. Don't think I ever tried Chrome. Been happy with Firefox for many years.

I actually use Iron, come to think of it, but most of the underworks are the same.

The new chat coming out for CC is going to allow the use of chrome I thinks.

Why hasn't this been addressed anyway? I feel it's weird the users have to ask for a chat to work on all web browsers. Wouldn't that just be a good thing for the chat in it of itself?

I figure it probably hasn't been addressed because tK works on, as far as I am aware, the majority of browsers.

Chrome and Iron are relatively recent, as well.

Anyway, point is, that's a lot of work to do for something that may or may not even be that much of an issue - and, given the results on the polls, appears not to be. Might cause lots of bugs, etcetera, if an attempt to fix what ain't broken is made. Besides, Web's a busy guy.

I believe what Web meant was 'if in the next reported survey of internet browser activity on the Information Superhighway, Chrome climbs to twenty percent usage.' It's still in the low teens, as far as I am aware.

How do you quantify that the poll results say it isn't a big deal. It's almost at a third of users.

Hey, looks like more people voted. But, that's still not really enough for me to think of it as a big deal. When it hits half, maybe, but this is mostly considering how old tK's current software is - adding things can cause some issues, and sometimes issues are big.

Google Chrome is one of the best web browsers available and has a rapidly growing following. Internet Explorer Still holds most of the world's users, if only because it comes standard on most PC's, but those numbers quickly dropped with the release of IE9, and more people are flocking to Google Chrome. It is fast, efficient, and most importantly user friendly.

http://www.favbrowser.com/internet-explorer-9-ie9-vs-google-chrome-12-vs-firefox-5-vs-opera-11-50/ here Tom's Hardware, an online publication focused on technology, has pitted the most popular web browsers against each other in various tests. Google Chrome wins 1st place in 11 out of 33 between the five web browsers, as seen in the chart at the end of the tests.

Necro'd thread is necro'd.

Unfortunately for your statistics though, Hawk`, not only are those statistics outdated ( it's not taking into account FF6, which is what I'm using to write this now ), but it's also calculating numbers for people who likely aren't on tK.
Why Webby would bother to cater to people that aren't on his chat, I don't know.

More to the point though, I run two different computers, one Chrome-centric, one FF-centric as to what I run the majority of my browsing on; in both cases I open FF if I need to get on tK. Having two browsers isn't really that big of a deal.

It's honestly not...that confusing?

I mean, they condensed the file/edit/view bar to the top right button thing, and...that's about it. ...Oh, there's no home button, I guess. Eehh.

Its unnoticeable faster, and quite frankly ugly to me and less user friendly given the amount of add ons available to me on Firefox that I already know coupled with the big security question of giving Google even MORE information about me then I already do by using it.

One of the best? Yes. But so is pepsi and coke. No real damn difference, get over it and use something that works (which in this case, is clearly not Chrome or this thread wouldn't exist.)

I use both Iron and Firefox. I find Iron to be more friendly to youtube on occasion, otherwise don't notice much difference except how shoddily it works on tK.
