Anyway, WP, I can't comment on the few years ago stuff. I've only been here for... almost two years, I think.
So yeah, I wouldn't know how helpful people were in the past as compared to now. Overall, I haven't seen much change except for a sharp decrease in the amount of "freeform" [term used loosely] RP.
