Hey guys, so as some of you might already know, I recently participated in the Minneapolis 48-hour film challenge. The basic premise is that we randomly selected a film genre out of a hat, and had 48 hours to go from concept to finished product. My co-director/co-producer and I both hold Film degrees, and this was our first attempt at this competition. There were over 60 teams this year, and we were one of the only teams that had never, ever done it before!

We weren't up for any awards, but I'm pretty pleased with the result.

I've uploaded our project to Youtube (be gentle please), and I'm pasting the link here. Gotta share our art afterall. Smiley

We had to do a "period piece,'

Additionally we were required to have a character named Les or Lena Olinger (a driving instructor)
Have a magnet somewhere as a prop...
and include "Tell me about it" as a line of dialogue. Enjoy!

RP is a hobby; it is nothing more and nothing less. It is comparable to scrapbooking, model-railroad, gardening, etc. It is a self-indulgent, nigh narcissistic practice that yields no tangible benefits to anyone in any real, practical applications, and serves little more than to justify the egos of those involved, and occasionally impress someone who is equally self-indulgent and narcissistic. Taking it too seriously is a waste of time.

Why didn't she roll off the bed?

Hey, I appreciate that you guys took the time to watch it.  Smiley

@Furr: There was actually quite a bit more exposition written into the script that we had to cut out due to time constraints (the rules specify no shorter than 4 minutes, and no longer than 7, sans opening slides and ending credits). The guy you aren't supposed to get too clear a picture about, the girl though, is a researcher who has sought him out. It's been suggested that we do a followup to explore the "Y2K that never was" concept, but even the fact that you even spent just a few minutes afterward trying to assemble the fragmented pieces we laid out for you is pretty cool.

@Kade: In the script I think we originally called for her to be gagged and bound to a chair (which would have made a lot more sense honestly), however we ended up in a much smaller indoor space than I thought we were gonna get, so the bed was the best we could do. Even though she can still squirm, I think we felt having her ankles and wrists bounds would still get the same idea across. The only place she could roll off to would be the floor, and even then that wouldn't do her much good.
