Since the OOC is discussing this game every few days and I'm always updating it with information on the new release, I've come bearing GIFTS. Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is expected to be released on November 15th later this year with redesigned HUDs, new mechanics, spectator mode, new costumes, new characters, new hypers, and entirely new gameplay mechanics. From what I could tell by watching the trailers posted this morning, horizontal air tag-ins now take away a bar of hyper from the opponent (obvious anti-Phoenix addition to the game), you can now X-Factor in the air in mid-combo, and it appears as though there will still be levels of X-Factor, but the change looks mutual for both players (if you have one character left, both of you will reap the benefits of Level 3 X-Factor). Four characters were announced this morning: Marvel: Ghost Rider and Hawkeye. Ghost Rider uses his chain like a whip and uses his cycle like a gangster. Hawkeye has special arrows (poison, lightning, ice) and uses Hank Pym in his level 3 hyper. Capcom: Strider Hiryu and Firebrand. Strider is pretty much an updated version of his MvC2 self, which is awesome. Firebrand is some weird ass dragon from Ghosts n' Goblins that is fast as shit and pretty much just kicks wholesale ass in all of the gameplay trailers. Capcom was teasing with month's worth of later character reveals, but the internet had none of that as they QUICKLY found the rest of the characters through Capcom's website. Among other announcements, while the main fighting game guy from Capcom was doing a press conference about Street FighterXTekken, a giant projection popped up on the screen right after he made all of the announcements that said " DARKSTALKERS IS NOT DEAD". |
