19:55:34 [DMD] Alright. We can jump right in to tonight. It’s the second day since you arrived at the trading post, one day since you defeated the bandit raiding party and only a couple hours since reinforcements in the form of Captain James and his Redshirt Bobs just this morning. The cleric, the Captain and two of the bobs have agreed to stay behind at least for now and work on fortifying the post and repair the catapults in anticipation of a another attack by more bandits. So, what do you do, where do you go? 19:57:32 Pae is going to pack up the things she'd worked with yesterday and this morning and any gear or goods the civilian couple might have for them. 19:58:32 Tülarie will greet the day by climbing to the highest accessible point in the trading post and taking a look at the lands around it. No way like deciding which way to go by seeing which way provides the most danger, eh? 19:59:47 [DMD] I believe you have a list of what you got off the bandits, and the reward Oleg passed onto you long with his offer of using the post as a camp as long as you want, and trading at cost with you. He also posted some posters on a post outside the main building early in the morning. 20:00:11 [DMD] You can roll a perception, Tul. 20:01:58 ( Tülarie rolls 1d20+8 => , + 8 9 ) 20:02:22 Tülarie is probably distracted by a nest of birds she finds up on the ramparts. Ayup. 20:03:58 [DMD] Tul notices back to the north is the road and civilized lands leading back to the bigger citites and more settled lands. Off to the west is a long stretch of plains, before forest sprouts up on the horizon . To the east is more apparently empty plains, and to the south is a shorter stretch of open fields before you hit forest. 20:04:41 [Pae] ((Which is the direction we've come from, South?)) 20:05:20 [DMD] North 20:05:46 [Pae] ((Aah, okay. The other directions all head out into the Stolen Lands, then?)) 20:06:38 [DMD] Yep

20:07:47 Tülarie returns from the perch after haphazardly gaining a lay of the land and immediately seeks out her contemporaries. Pae is the first she runs across. "So, I think we should head out towards the east first and see what's laying around." 20:08:20 Pae suggests heading out east and circling around in an ever-tightening spiral systematically clearing it of everything until there is no longer any threat to our kingdom.)) 20:09:29 [DMD] East it is you set out then, the rising sun to your backs casting long shadows ahead of you. 20:10:06 ( DMD rolls 1d100 => 89 ) 20:11:39 Tülarie will ride, of course! No good hoofing it on a longer walk such as this. "Ah. I suspect our day will be delightfully boring," she remarks mostly to herself at some point where they set out, or go on their way or whatnot. 20:12:39 Pae smiled. "I could stand for delightfully boring." 20:13:12 [Porter] "Better to be boring than dead, eh?" He'd say as they trotted along. "So, you two seem to be the best of friends. How'd that come about?" He tried to make idle chatter. 20:14:37 [DMD] B1 and B4 fall in with you, neither seems to have much to say, just serving thier role as escort and reinforcements like it was thier job or something. The first several hours of the day pass with nothing of note, almost as if the Stolen Lands savage reuptation might be a bit overhyped. You'd been lead to believe there was a bandit or bugbear behind every bush . Just as the sun is passing it's zinith and starting it's downward treck across the daysky you notice a small hut set on the plains all alone. 20:16:53 Tülarie has most than likely grown restless at this point and will be looking for anything to break up the monotony. Just as an FYI, her crossbow was never far from hand in case trouble ever did break out. But that sense of tension never seemed to break. "Oh, what is that on the horizon?" Perception check, perhaps?

20:18:13 [DMD] It stands out on the plains, just a small simple hut . From where you are a few hundred yards away you don't see any movement about it . 20:18:22 Pae peered forward, trying to spot what the other woman had noticed. "Larks migrate, you know, so it does make sense," she answered another of Porter's statements even as she narrowed her eyes to look. 20:19:39 Porter looked up at the hut, pondering. He'd draw his bow just in case. 20:20:23 Tülarie will make up for that somehow. "Well, I suppose we should wander over and say hi?" She dismounts, actually. "I could go and take a closer look if you all would like that better.” 20:21:03 [Porter] "I suspect you're better than either of us at sneaking. If you feel safe in doing so, godspeed." 20:21:58 [DMD] So, Tul is going on alone? 20:23:10 Pae nods. "If you need us, call. We'll keep an eye out, though." After a lifetime--a half-elf lifetime, but a life-time all the same, of being around Larie, parting in less-than-placid conditions still gave her a twinge. The gnome readied her crossbow. 20:23:45 Porter will be holding up the rear. 20:24:12 Tülarie flicks an unusual but probably affirmative gesture and will proceed, slowly and stealthily, towards the lonely village. 20:25:21 ( Tülarie rolls 1d20+8 => , + 8 23 ) 20:25:30 Tülarie throws out the Stealth check if it's wanted. 20:25:44 [DMD] As you approach closer, the hut door swings open and an elderly human male bumbles out and around the corner to begin mucking about in a small garden just off to one side and behind the hut, he never seems to take notice of your presence. 20:26:27 [DMD] B1 and B4 follow Tul a bit closer on horseback, just in case. But nothing happens to alert anyone. 20:27:55 Porter follows just close enough to Tularie so his bow has some range to protect her. 20:28:09 Tülarie will watch this old man from her (perceived) cover for a few minutes to see what he is up to. 20:28:49 [DMD] The elderly human male is balding and walks hunched over with age. He's up to gardening and talking to himself in a low mumble that you can't make out the details from where you are. 20:29:12 Falaken enters this room

20:31:26 Tülarie at this point decides that there probably isn't much in the way of danger from this old man, so she breaks her cover and calls out to him. "Greetings there!" she says in a cheerful manner. 20:32:38 Porter was aware that there may very well be someone inside the hut still, so he'd dismount and not-so-stealthily move up close to Tularie, bow ready. 20:33:06 Falaken exits from this room 20:33:25 [DMD] After a few minutes he takes a bundle of herbs and roots he's collected, turns back toward the hut door as Tul calls to him. He jerks and stumbles, dropping his wares as he holds one hand to block the sun and squints in all directions. "Eh? Who's there? Don't be messing with ole Bokken now, come on out and show your self." it's clear by the way he squints, and the time it takes his gaze to fianally settle on any of you that he must be almost blind. 20:34:13 Pae watches from her further-away post. "Oh, dear." 20:35:32 Porter piped up. "Bokken, sir? We mean you no harm! There are four (five?) of us!" He tried to make his voice as cheerful as possible. 20:36:28 [Tülarie] "Who? I'm not messing with anybody!" she says in an almost flustered tone. She closes the distance and notices his difficulty tracking her. She rounds her mouth and makes the low ooh sound that usually accompanies the expression. "I am Tülarie Lefay," she says in a sing-song way, "and my friends and I are simply exploring these lands." She looks at the dropped items to see what they are. 20:38:21 [DMD] The old man stutter steps closer to those gathered nearest him and looks you all over, eyes narrowed to almost closed slits. " What, sir? No sirs here. Just Bokken. Harm? Why would you? How could I? Ole Bokken just makes his potions and don't bother nobody!!" his tone is almost a shout, letting you surmise the ancient old man must be as deaf as he is blind. The dropped items are leaves, roots and various

plant ingrediants, Tul. Unless you have knowledge that would let you know just what plants they're part of? 20:39:02 Porter gestured towards Pae and the Bobs in a 'come on' wave type fashion. 20:39:37 [DMD] The Bobs close ranks wi Porter and Tul, but stay mounted. They never go in first unless directly ordered. 20:39:43 Pae nods. She dismounts from her mastiff and leads it toward her comrades. 20:41:05 Tülarie has noooooo knowledge about plants whatsoever! So instead she moves on. "I see! Yes, I must admit we probably are rather bothersome!" she says, gradually raising her voice as his age-wrought deficiencies become more evident, "but let me ask you something! Have any bandits been bothering you out here?!" 20:41:43 Porter kept an eye out for anything or anyone else as best he could while Tul did the talking. 20:42:39 [DMD] The old man shakes his head as he collects the ingredints he dropped. "No, bandits don't bother ole Bokken. Bokken sales potions . Somethin happens to him no potion for them, no potions for anybody. Saaaaaaaay. Are you here to buy potions?" 20:43:16 Porter checks his gold pouch. Hm. 20:43:49 Porter has thirty five gold on himself, and the party itself has 70, according to his sheet. 20:43:52 Pae shakes her head as she joins her friends. Her belt pouch is a little light. 20:45:01 [Tülarie] "I see!" she looks back to her comrades and gives a raise of both her brows and her shoulders. "Guess they don't come this far out," she asides, then she turns back to Bokken. "Perhaps! What potions do you make?!" 20:45:25 [DMD] Bokken bends down to inspect Pae closely as she comes closer, a quizical expression crossing his features as he tries to focus on her. "What's this a walking radish? Oh no, wait I gnome. Always looked like walking radishes to me...lucky I didn't try to pluck you. So close to the ground, same color, honest mistake!!" 20:45:55 Pae blinks. "The same color as a radish, or the ground?"

20:47:21 [DMD] "Well, a radish is in the groun ain't it?" he asks before turning back to Tul like that answer made perfect sense. " Got a few potions, healing and help with the elements mostly. Would have more if I could get some fangberries but noone brings me fangberries anymore. No fangberrries no more potions ..."he mutters 20:48:11 Porter looks to his comrades. No fangberries anymore, eh? Sounds like a sidequest! 20:48:12 Pae frowns. 20:48:42 [Porter] "Where do fangberries grow, Bokken?" 20:49:37 Tülarie smiles broadly as though she knows exactly what Bokken is talking about. "Is that right!? What a shame! I will take a look around if you don't mind! I've had a long ride and it's nice to stretch the legs!" Without further ado, she walks off to take a look at the grounds around the hut. 20:51:54 DMD swivles his head in the direction of Porter's voice . "Grow bout fifty miles west of here, south of Oleg’s. Too far for an old man to walk, apparently too far for anyone else to go out of the way for." he grummbles. He follows Tul until she rounds a corner of the hut out of sight. "Not gonna find much, just an old man out here selling potions to make himself a little living!" He turns back to Porter. "I even posted a notice with Oleg, anyone brings me enough for seven potions gets a discount on potions for a month at a time " 20:53:02 Pae smiled. "I'd bring you some potion ingredients without a drain on your resources. A man like you deserves what he charges, I'm sure." 20:53:24 Porter jots this down in his memory. "Well, me and my compatriots are lookin' to improve the land. If my friends don't protest, we can get you some fangberries." 20:55:01 [DMD] Bokken shurgs. "Suit yourselves. Just make sure the berries are washed. Have to summon my own water here and I use it for cookin and making the potions, not got extra for bathin ingredients" and from the smell, he doesn't summon up any extra to bathe himself all to often. 20:55:43 Pae nods. "I'm sure we can manage that."

20:56:42 [DMD] The Bobs keep themselves occupied watching the land around the hut, just in case the bandits or random creature picks now to find the hut. 20:56:50 Tülarie walks the full circumference of the hut because it seems like it is too much effort to turn around. Once she returns to her comrades sides, she raises a hand and a finger on that hand. "So I suppose this means we are heading back, but a little ways off towards the south then?" 20:56:52 Porter smiled to Pae. He'd pat her on the shoulder if he could. But he was certain touching her in any fashion would make Tularie go GRRR at the moment. "Fangberries it is, then." 20:58:17 [Pae] ((I wonder how long fifty miles is.)) 20:58:23 Pae smiled back up at Porter. 20:59:37 [DMD] About two and a half days ride, one way. 20:59:38 [Tülarie] "Fifty miles is quite a trip though. I suppose that means we will be camping out?" The notion didn't seem to bother Tula much. She says this almost half-asleep, in a way. 21:00:17 [Porter] "More than likely, friend." 21:00:41 Pae smiled. "Rough nights make for grateful inn stays." 21:01:28 Porter chuckled at Pae. "Indeed, friend. Indeed." 21:02:27 [DMD] So what are we doing? 21:02:58 [Tülarie] "Ayoo, well! At least we shall see the stars! Barring rain or any unpleasantness." She turns in place suddenly. "Farewell, Bokken! We shall return!" And barring further hinderances she will remount her horse and await her comrades further action. She's content to wait for now and, like the Bobs, watch the surrounding plain. 21:03:11 [Porter] First I want to know what healing potions he might have--- nevermind. ) 21:03:25 [Porter] well, what healing potions does he have, and how much do they cost? ) 21:04:23 [DMD] Bokken informs you that currently he has two potions of cure light wounds and one of cure moderate wounds, as well as one of endure elements. 21:05:03 [Porter] How much is the cure moderate wounds? )

21:05:06 [DMD] Current cost is 100gp for the cure light, 300 for the moderate and 150 for the endure elements 21:07:24 Tülarie is certainly much too destitute to be buying anything from Bokken as it stands. She will simply wait for the others if they are thinking of it. 21:08:00 Pae is not. She'll say, "Goodbye. We'll be back... relatively soon," and lead her dog back to Larie's horse. 21:08:33 Porter wandered on over to to his horse, remounted it, and looked to his comrades and Bobs. "Well then, let's get going, shall we?" 21:09:20 ( DMD rolls 2d100 => 54, 17 = 71 ) 21:10:17 Pae nods as she gets back up on that dog. "Certainly." 21:11:16 [DMD] Your trek back to the east lets you camp within sight of the trading post walls on the first night, and continuing on to the southwest follwing Bokken's direction's you make it half a day before you see ahead of you a large patch of strangely colored radishes and large, fuzzy blue berry sized fruits about thirty yards off the trail you'd followed. 21:11:32 ( DMD rolls 1d20+11 => , + 11 13 ) 21:11:41 [DMD] Roll perceptions 21:11:57 ( Tülarie rolls 1d20+8 => , + 8 26 ) 21:12:03 ( Porter rolls 1d20+6 => , + 6 16 ) 21:12:55 ( DMD rolls 1d20+6 => , + 6 25 ) 21:13:11 ( DMD rolls 1d20+5 => , + 5 15 ) 21:13:24 ( DMD rolls 1d20+8 => , + 8 27 ) 21:14:37 [DMD] Tul, B1, Porter, and Pae all notice strung about the path of berries, radishes and mushrooms there's an oddly high amount of bones a debri, and near the center is a small mound of what looks like slightly depressed earth 21:15:32 Porter blinks. "Seems there's a reason no one wants to pick fangberries anymore, if this is the fangberry patch..." 21:15:45 Porter wonders if there's a knowledge check to identify if that mound is a particular beastie. 21:16:10 [DMD] Knowledge nature or Survival 21:16:35 [Tülarie] "I—" she says, holding the note for a good moment, "—think there is a good reason for that." Her everpresent smile has become a mild grimace. 21:16:37 Porter goes with Survival.

21:16:47 ( Porter rolls 1d20+2 => , + 2 12 ) 21:18:06 Tülarie is gonna go ahead and try to ID this thing as well. Survival! 21:18:10 ( Tülarie rolls 1d20+2 => , + 2 17 ) 21:18:31 [DMD] You can tell something seems to have dug out a small ((about 5ft x 5ft )) area of the ground, but it hasn't been burrowed from below. You're not sure of anything off the top of your head that would do such a thing, Porter 21:18:38 Pae shakes her head. "Radishes. Why. ... perhaps the 'fang'berry is inside that depression." 21:18:55 [DMD] Same for you, Tul. 21:20:34 Pae will roll Survival, sure. 21:20:39 ( Pae rolls 1d20+2 => , + 2 5 ) 21:22:03 Tülarie smiles blankly. "It seems we are at an impasse. Does anyone have any ideas on how to lure this unpleasant beast out from hiding?" At this point she dismounts, making sure to do so a safe distance from the patch and the scattering of bones. She looks for a good sized rock, at least the size of her closed fist. 21:22:54 Porter dismounts as well. "I...well hm." He thinks. 21:23:34 Pae dismounts. "I'm sure my dog, or myself, probably look tasty to anything that might leave a circle of bones around its lair. I'd bet it's a ravenous rabbit." 21:23:49 [DMD] You can find a rock just fine, the Bobs are NPCs who litterally will tell you "I am a disposable combatant who will live a short life that ends terribly and likely before the rest of the away party. Do not ask me." 21:24:29 [DMD] What's the closest anyone is willing to venture? 21:26:21 [Tülarie] "Well, stand back!" Tula has apparently cooked up a harebrained plot to disturb it the only way she figures how—throw a rock through its window. From ten feet away from the circle, she'll attempt to lope that rock right onto the disturbed earth. Ranged touched attack? 21:26:56 Pae hurriedly steps back.

21:27:46 [DMD] It is indeed, as you prepare to do this the Bobs dismount and draw thier weapons, looking surprised they where not ordered to investigate. HOWEVER. Ten feet away from the circle is within the fourty feet tremor sense....Roll Initiative everyone 21:28:05 ( DMD rolls 1d20+3 => , + 3 6 ) 21:28:26 ( Porter rolls 1d20+3 => , + 3 21 ) 21:28:44 ( Tülarie rolls 1d20+6 => , + 6 21 ) 21:28:54 ( Pae rolls 1d20+4 => , + 4 13 ) 21:28:55 Porter makes way for Tul. ) 21:30:48 [DMD] It goes, Tul, Porter, Pae, Bob 1, It, Bob 2 21:31:10 [DMD] Are you throwing the rock as described, Tul? 21:31:36 Tülarie is. 21:31:53 [DMD] Roll your ranged attack, then 21:32:17 ( Tülarie rolls 1d20+5 => , + 5 17 ) 21:32:28 Tülarie is not sure if this counts as an improvised weapon or not, but eh. 21:35:49 [DMD] Tul lobs the rock near perfectly, as it lands dead center of the depression and bounces off to one side.. and causes a black and red spider roughly the size of a pony to explode from the underground lair, disapointed by lack of prey, it rotates in place until it 's multifaceted eyes rest on the party and it's two large mandibles click auidibly as greenish venom drip from them....Porter? 21:38:29 [Pae] "... I wish it had been a rabbit." 21:39:07 [Porter] How far is the party, generally? 21:39:11 [Porter] away from it 21:39:33 Porter goes to look up DCs and stuff. 21:39:39 [DMD] 20 ft 21:40:32 [DMD] https://sites.google.com/site/pathfinderogc/bestiary/monster-listings/vermin/spider/giant-spider/tarantula_1_Metajock.png21:40:40 [Porter] Perfect, let me look up the DC. 21:41:16 [DMD] (( This is the Trap Door Spider version , just imagine that red and black)) 21:42:20 [Porter] It's on the ground, right? ) 21:42:26 [Porter] Above ground, rather? ) 21:42:57 Tülarie sure lured it out! 21:43:17 [DMD] Yes 21:43:18 Porter casts Grease! 21:44:27 [DMD] The spider falls prone , all eight legs going in different directions as it tries to rise again. Pae? 21:45:42 Pae begins casting sleep. It takes a round, I'm not sure whether that means it goes into effect only after my next turn or not. 21:46:38 [DMD] Unfortuantly vermin are immune to mind effecting spells and such, so the result is the same, the spider does not take a nap. 21:47:49 [Tülarie] (Spiders never sleep. They wait.) 21:47:52 [Pae] ... bah. I'm going to get eaten. I wish I'd remembered that.)) 21:48:01 [DMD] Bob 1, the ranger type swaps his greataxe for his heavy crossbow and fires at the spider. 21:48:22 ( DMD rolls 1d20+3 => , + 3 11 ) 21:49:22 [DMD] Unfortuantly prone targets are harder to hit and the bolt sails over the spider to disapear into the underbush, while Ranger Bob 1 curses and begins to reload. The spider attempts to gain it's footing again. 21:49:32 ( DMD rolls 1d20+4 => , + 4 11 ) 21:50:49 [DMD] The spider still struggles to regain it's footing and Bob 2 the monkly type who has no ranged weapons charges forward with his temple sword drawn, depending on his cat like grace to keep his footing on the greasy area... 21:51:03 ( DMD rolls 1d20+4 => , + 4 8 ) 21:51:37 [DMD] And MonkBob falls prone dangerously close to the spider's snapping mandibles, this brings us back around to Tul. 21:52:00 [Porter] People walking in the grease can make a DC 10 Acrobatics check and walk at half speed once they get their footing, for future reference. ) 21:52:13 [Porter] if they fail, reflex save. ) 21:53:40 Tülarie is going to circle around the spider in a thirty-foot semi-circle and cry out in an attempt to get its attention. "Hey ugly, over here!" And she will take a shot at it with her crossbow to emphasize her remarks! 21:54:22 ( Tülarie rolls 1d20+4 => , + 4 21 ) 21:55:08 [DMD] Tul's crossbow thunks into the meaty torso of the spider, producing a satisyfing spray of green ichor and redish black blood. 21:55:26 ( Tülarie rolls 1d8 => 1 )

21:55:32 [Tülarie] aw whyyyy 21:56:03 [DMD] Porter? 21:56:39 [DMD] You forgot your sneak attack damage, you flanked it Tul 21:58:00 [Porter] Once Tul does her sneak attack damage, I'm gonna move back five feet, then take a shot myself with my spiffy longbow. 22:00:24 [DMD] Tul? 22:01:06 ( Tülarie rolls 1d6 => 2 ) 22:01:10 [Tülarie] welp. 22:01:24 ( Porter rolls 1d20+3 => , + 3 23 ) 22:01:28 [Porter] WOO 22:01:41 [Porter] Right in one of its eyes, I hope. 22:01:48 [Pae] ((Yay!)) 22:01:51 ( Porter rolls 1d8 => 6 ) 22:02:03 [Porter] 18 damage. 22:02:58 [Pae] ((I think Diver might use roll to confirm.)) 22:03:06 [DMD] NAh 22:03:32 [Porter] Oh shit that killed it? Fuck yeah. ) 22:04:33 [DMD] Ranger Bob goes to help Bob the Monk to his feet, carefully avoiding entering the greased area to do so. 22:04:56 Pae breathes a sigh of relief. 22:05:34 Porter keeps his senses heightened as best he can just in case there were other nasties lurking below. 22:06:04 [DMD] Enough time passes for your grease spell to expire and nothing else presents itself from hiding, Porter. 22:06:43 Porter eases and puts his bow away plus the arrow he had notched. "Is this the fangberry patch?" He'd say, walking over to the patch of berries. 22:07:43 Tülarie wipes her brow as she approaches the dead body. "It would seem! But dear Bokken mentioned nothing about gargantuan spiders growing here." She leans over and admires the arrow that embedded itself so fatally into the spider from Porter's bow. Who knew magicians were good shots? 22:08:27 [DMD] You notice the large fuzzy blue berry like fruits, along with radishes and strangly colored mushrooms growing in the patch. Apparently it was one of those perfect ecosystems that happen in nature, Ranger Bob explains. The spider's kills fertilized the ground for the diffrent plants to flourish, wich attracted more prey for the spider. 22:09:26 Pae raises her eyebrows. "I wonder which are the fangberries."

22:09:30 [DMD] There's also bones both animal and human strewen about the patch, and the trapdoor spider's lair just under the surface of the thin cover of earth it threw back when it attacked . 22:09:34 [Porter] "It would certainly explain why no one's taken up the offer, or if they have, they never got the chance to do any picking." He listens to Ranger Bob. "That makes sense, friend. Anyone got a basket or a pouch or something?" 22:10:05 Pae investigates the remains, carefully. Perception check? 22:11:30 [DMD] Yes 22:12:19 ( Pae rolls 1d20+8 => , + 8 15 ) 22:12:50 [Tülarie] "That is fiendishly convenient," she says of Ranger Bob's observation. She looks to Porter and nods, patting her belt pouch. "I've got plenty of room in here." But her eyes were soon drawn by the blown-back trapdoor that led into the spider's lair. She steps over and attempts to take a look within from the surface. 22:13:03 Tülarie throws in a Percepcheck. 22:13:08 ( Tülarie rolls 1d20+8 => , + 8 17 ) 22:13:34 Porter tries to see if he can identify the berries. Survival/knowledge nature? 22:15:06 [DMD] Nothing of worth or signifigance is above ground, but the spider's pit is roughly five feet wide and 25 feet deep, Thick webbing on the side seem to make scaling in and out of it realativly easy, and you can see at least two huminoid corpses in shadow at the bottom of the shaft, the blue fuzzie berries fit the description that Bokken we will say gave you of fangberries, Porter 22:15:26 [Porter] Oh, spiffy. ) 22:16:14 Porter has a backpack with naught but a shaving kit inside. So he'll use his backpack to hold berries as he starts picking them. 22:16:47 [DMD] A backpack full is more than enough for the sven potions worth Bokken asked for. 22:17:15 [Tülarie] How decomposed are the corpses within the layer, if it is even possible to tell from this distance? 22:17:16 Porter will fill his backpack, just to be generous. 22:17:32 Pae heads down to investigate the furrow.

22:18:19 [DMD] They're not moving, you can tell that much. Pae needs a Climb check of 10 to make it down. 22:19:26 ( Pae rolls 1d20 => 5 ) 22:20:02 [DMD] Reflex save to halve the falling damage 22:20:13 ( DMD rolls 2d6 => 4, 5 = 9 ) 22:20:18 ( Pae rolls 1d20+5 => , + 5 23 ) 22:21:42 Porter blinks as Pae falls down into the pit. He rushes over. "Pae! You all right?! Lemme get this rope and I'll toss it on down!" He grabs the coiled rope and starts feeding it into the burrow down to Pae. 22:22:14 [Tülarie] "Pae!" she cries as the small dark figure seems to lose her handle on the lair walls. One hand comes up over her eye, the other watches in suspense. "Rope!" she says as she sees Porter grab the thing. 22:22:56 [Pae] "Oops." 22:24:07 [DMD] You manage to catch youself partially in the webbing and land painfully on a twisted leg instead of a broken neck, taking 3 damage. You land on a pile of three bodies, one human, one scaly small lizard like bipedal creature, and a likewise small blusish bipedal creature that is almost goblinish. The human is wearing leather armor and has a short sword while the other two have no belonging that you can see, Pae. The human is way to big for you to think about hauling out , the other two are just as big as you as well, and all three still have a decent amount of muscle and fat on the bone suggesting they're the spider's most recent and possibly last kills 22:25:36 Porter digs his feet into the ground and prepares himself to be the anchor for the rope for Pae to climb up, or to anchor himself and pull Pae up as she clings to the rope. 22:26:21 [DMD] Rope added to the webbing for extra hand and foot holds makes climbing in and or out of the lair an non-issue. 22:26:39 [Tülarie] "Are you okay!" she calls down into the pit, crouching at the lip of it.

22:27:56 Pae yelps as she lands. A moment to examine the bodies, since that is after all what she came down here for in the first place. "I'm fine. These fine fellows, however, are... not. Nothing worth note except for the bodies themselves. I will make a dirge for them later." She stands up as well as she can on her leg and catches hold of the rope. "Ready?" 22:28:25 [Porter] "Ready!" If Pae doesn't start climbing, he'd start pulling. 22:28:38 [DMD] You could make a perception check to exaine the bodies closer, if you want 22:29:11 [DMD] Or anyone else who climbed down there to do so 22:29:18 Pae hesitates. "Wait." She lets go of the rope and spends another moment to examine the bodies more closely. 22:29:24 [Porter] I think Pae's the only one. ) 22:29:33 Porter waits. 22:29:37 ( Pae rolls 1d20+8 => , + 8 19 ) 22:29:44 [DMD] It'll take a Str check to pull her out, Porter 22:30:12 Porter ...might want to let Tularie take over then. 22:30:19 [Porter] Or help. 22:30:27 [Porter] Or one of the Bobs. 22:30:32 [DMD] You notice a coin pouch, and a silver stag amulet on the dead human, as well as a piece of paper sticking out of his left boot. 22:30:38 Tülarie will assist Porter when the time comes. She also commissions the Bobs! 22:31:12 [DMD] Four people, three aiding on the Str check could pull her out no problem 22:31:14 [Porter] Surely all four people can pull up a gnome from a hole! 22:32:04 Pae pockets all three, frowning. "The Stag Lord..." She turns and pulls on the rope to secure her grip. "Ready." 22:32:05 [Porter] ...silver stag amulet huh. -recalls the bandits' warning.- ) 22:32:35 Porter waves the two Bobs over and Tularie. 22:32:45 Tülarie takes her position on the rope line then!

22:33:43 Porter , once everyone was in position, would shout "All right! Hold on!" and gesture for the rest to start pulling, and pulled himself. 22:33:51 ( Porter rolls 1d20 => 4 ) 22:34:41 [DMD] And Pae is hoisted to saftey, after a mighty effort by everyone involved. Of course, with everyone working the rope noone is keeping a look out. 22:35:24 Porter Once Pae is safe, he'd look around to make sure nothing snuck up on them. 22:35:40 ( Tülarie rolls 1d20 => 18 ) 22:35:51 [DMD] Nothing has, I just like to see you all sweat. 22:37:23 Porter wonders if he could do something for that twisted leg. Only has +2 to Heal though... 22:37:41 Pae sits her butt securely on the ground once she's up, both to take the weight off her leg and to ensure her stability. "Thank you, everyone!" she enthused even as she brought out the scrap of paper to have a look. She paid no mind to the leg. That's what she has a mount for. 22:38:11 Tülarie apparently didn't even need to put in that much effort. Alas, oh well. She steps over to Pae and aims to brush away some of the spider webbing that is sure to be stuck to her hair still. "You gave me a start," she says smartly, half-smiling. "Be more careful next time." She looks over the gnome's shoulder curiously at the paper, her face long. 22:39:01 Porter wanders over to Pae. "What'd you find?" 22:39:44 [DMD] The paper has a crude drawing of a claw shaped tree ontop an otherwise barren hill with an X marked in blood by the tree's roots. The bandit's pouch had 10 gp in it, and of course there's the silver stag pendant worth something for the metal if anyone has apraise. 22:41:03 Porter has only +1 to Appraise. Someone else might have to do it. 22:41:04 Pae looked up--way up, at Tula. "... but someone had to go down there. I'd prefer to get those three people out of there and get everyone here properly buried, but little chance of that. Ah, well, their funerary rights will be their song." Reminded of the paper, she look back down. "Oh."

22:42:21 Tülarie smiles and walks around. "What else did you find?" Did Pae have that pendant out, visible? She's got an eye for handiwork, Pae ought to have known this about Tula by now. 22:42:35 [DMD] One person, one lizard humanoid and one bluish tinted creature that resembles a smaller goblin, actually 22:44:01 [Pae] ((A person is a person, no matter how strange!)) 22:44:21 [DMD] Says the walking talking radish 22:45:07 Pae does dig out the pendant, and the pouch. "Here, Tula, Porter." 22:45:26 Porter will take the pouch, and add it to party gold. 22:46:01 Tülarie tilts her head and examines the pendant more closely. "What is this you've got..." [Appraise!] 22:46:07 ( Tülarie rolls 1d20+7 => , + 7 21 ) 22:47:20 [Pae] ((Whoo!)) 22:47:42 [DMD] The silver pendant is much like the one that the bandit leader of the attack on the trading post had, made of silver and crafted in the likeness of a stag with an impressive antler rack. You figure for the right buyer, someone not afraid to be found buying dead bandit gear they're worth about 20gp each, Tul. 22:48:12 Pae herself stares at the drawing. Can she try local or history knowledge to figure out its significance? 22:48:36 [DMD] Do a bardic knowledge instead 22:49:42 Tülarie holds the pendant out at arms' length, watching it glint listlessly in the daylight. "I'm starting to see a pattern here. I doubt anyone who lives in these parts who isn't a bandit would want to be caught with one of these, though." 22:50:16 [Porter] "More than likely. Keep it, sell it if we visit the other kingdoms?" 22:50:53 [Porter] which will be: never ) 22:51:05 [DMD] The Bobs make a rare observation. "Oleg might if he's got the coin, he wanted to hang bandits from the post walls and put up a notice from the swordlords offering a reward for bandit heads ..." 22:51:31 [Pae] ((Bardic knowledge for Pathfinder is: all Knowledge skills are class skills. Also, add half your class level to knowledge checks.))

22:52:05 [Porter] Bards are smart people. ) 22:52:31 [DMD] Roll local then 22:52:43 [Pae] ((I know that's a dramatic change, really, from 3.5.)) 22:53:01 ( Pae rolls 1d20+8 => , + 8 26 ) 22:55:07 Tülarie raises her brows at that. "Ah. So we could turn them in like a bounty then. Very well, that works for me!" She didn't have a particular fondness for stags anyhow. Unless Pae wants it back, she pockets it in her belt pouch. Speaking of which, she turns her attention on the studious gnome. 22:55:44 Porter watches the gnome as well, waiting if she has any input on the map. 22:57:13 Pae arched her eyebrows as she looked over the image. "Hmm. I wonder whose blood this is. Well, if we come across a tree like this we might be in for some fortune, if we aren't concerned about more bandit attention than we're already likely to get." 22:58:20 [Porter] "Let's keep an eye out for it then, hm? You need some hellp getting up and on your mount, Pae?" 22:59:10 Pae considered. "Getting me over to Bartrand would be a good deed." 22:59:54 [DMD] Soooo where to now? 23:00:07 Porter if Tul didn't, Porter would lean over and offer his hand, then would guide her over to the dog and assist her onto it. 23:01:26 Tülarie merely smiles at the notion of bandit attention. Then her attention shifts towards helping Pae up along with Porter, if extra hands are needed. If not, she will simply mount her horse while that goes on. "Well, that was exciting. I think we should head back to the trading post before taking these fangberries to Mister Bokken." Pae sure looked like she could use a day or two of comfortable resting. 23:02:15 [DMD] The ride back to the post is 1 day. 23:02:24 ( DMD rolls 1d100 => 82 )

23:02:39 [DMD] And a peacfull one, if that's the course you follow 23:02:47 [Pae] ((Will stopping at the trading post length the journey to Bokken?)) 23:02:59 [Pae] *lengthen)) 23:03:08 [Porter] Well, yeah. ) 23:03:25 [Tülarie] (Conventionally, yes.) 23:03:26 [DMD] Back to Bokken is 21/2 days, the post is on the wayish 23:04:16 Pae shook her head. "I'd rather not. Mister Bokken seemed rather put out by his lack of supplies. I know how badly I would itch if someone was supposed to bring me ink and dawdled. I would probably start writing in the dirt." 23:05:17 [Porter] "To Bokken, then, and then we'll see about setting up camp near him so we can get you some rest, Pae, or maybe the discount will be enough where we can afford one of those healing potions." He'd remount his horse and wait for his comrades. 23:06:05 Pae brought Bartrand about-face. 23:06:32 Porter should have bought a tent or two or three for this. Hm. 23:06:49 [Tülarie] "Very well!" Without further ado, she brings her borrowed horse to bear on the proper direction back to Bokken's and starts off at a trot. "Er, we do have the berries, right?" she calls back to her comrades. 23:07:34 [Porter] "In the backpack, friend, more than enough for those seven potions." He was quite careful not to have them squished, too, as he rode. 23:07:48 Pae follows suit, ignoring the jolt in her leg. She smiled. "Good." 23:08:41 ( DMD rolls 1d100 => 52 ) 23:10:01 Tülarie figures then that time is of the essence. Judging by the way that the fruit at the bottom of the barrel in vendor's stalls tasted, the berries wouldn't hold forever. So on she went. 23:10:03 [DMD] You make it back to Bokken without incident . He's beside himself with joy at the abundance of berries you return with and marks the date on his calander inside the hut. " A quarter off the price for one month from this day. " 23:11:10 [Porter] "Happy to help, Bokken." Though this player is terrible with math much less doesn't know which healing potion would heal a twisted leg.

23:12:06 Porter can certainly afford a Light Wounds potion though, and is more than willing to buy one for Pae if it'll work. 23:12:13 [DMD] A heal check could do that, it would take a potion or a day of total rest to heal the 3hp damage 23:12:15 [Pae] ((Pae and I both assure you that a healing potion will be unnecessary. A good night's sleep will be fine.)) 23:12:21 [Porter] ...if I did my math right. ) 23:12:24 [Pae] ((Or not.)) 23:12:28 [Porter] which I probably didn't. ) 23:12:40 [Porter] Well if a good night's sleep is all that's needed then okay, no potions will be bought. ) 23:13:26 [Pae] ((No no, a total day of rest is not the same as a night of sleep.)) 23:13:27 Porter did his math wrong. He can't afford a light potion, no. ) 23:13:33 Tülarie thinks that makes the cure light wounds 75gp, endure elements 112.5gp, and cure moderate wounds 225gp. 23:14:04 [Porter] Well either way we're camping out until Pae is healed! ) 23:14:09 [DMD] Hp damage only repairs /heals it self with total rest 23:14:36 [Pae] ((That's terrible. I never knew that.)) 23:14:49 [DMD] That would put you on day 8 total of the campaign so far. 23:15:05 [DMD] Without magical healing, that is, Pae 23:15:50 [DMD] And even with total rest I think it's 1+Con modifier per day. 23:15:51 Tülarie thinks we could safely assume that our cleric would tend to Pae's injuries once back at post. 23:16:15 [DMD] Or maby lvl+con mod per day 23:16:29 [Pae] ((Oh yeah, we have a cleric.)) 23:16:47 [Porter] That's also true. ) 23:16:51 Pae shook her head. "No, I'm fine. At worst, I'm sure our friend of the cloth could help at the trading post." 23:17:17 [DMD] So back to the post instead of staying at Bokken's? 23:17:27 [Porter] Seems so. 23:17:46 ( DMD rolls 1d100 => 10 ) 23:17:57 [DMD] And you make it back no problem 23:18:08 [DMD] Good place to stop? 23:18:17 [Pae] ((Yay! Yes.))

23:18:27 [DMD] Or do you all want to go on a bit more 23:18:28 Tülarie gives the old man a notice before they go. "We come from the trading post a little ways east of here. Let us know if you ever need anything!" And barring anything else she rides back with the rest. 23:18:45 Tülarie thinks this is a good place to pause. Wouldn't want to go on much farther without Lirr. 23:18:52 [Porter] I could go on more or I could stop, doesn't matter. ) 23:18:57 [Porter] Also that, yes. ) 23:19:23 [DMD] Bokken nods. "I sale potions to Oleg or trade for stuff he has I want sometimes. Guess with you all around more traders might be on th way" 23:19:35 [Pae] ((Stopping would be fine.)) 23:19:48 [DMD] The Trapdoor Spider was worth 400xp, the Fangberry quest another 400, as well as the 1 month discount on potions from Bokken. You traveled through two hexes twice so I’ll credit any traveled three times as explored, which is worth another 200 for a total of 1000 xp to divide between the three of you, Tul gets an extra 25xp for cleverly avoiding an ambush by the spider. 23:19:49 [Porter] Stopping is fine, if only for Lirr. ) 23:20:26 [DMD] ** you traveled through two hexes 3 times** Those would be the two between the post and Bokken's 23:20:52 [DMD] Wich are to the East of the post, for marking explored on Tul's map. 23:21:13 [DMD] I've got a couple ideas for the map and the posters at Oleg's 23:21:56 [Pae] 334 experience each for the three of us. 23:22:01 [Porter] sooo 333 exp each? 23:22:05 Tülarie thinks that makes 334 XP for each. 23:22:09 [Porter] 34, sure. 23:22:17 [DMD] I'm going to post the "wanted/quest" posters in the log thread on the multiverse, and keep track of completed and non- completed ones there. Lurkdumb, is there anyway you could post the map and updated versions of the map there? 23:22:23 Tülarie notes the rule is to round up when there is a remainder. 23:22:27 [Pae] Like Lirr told me last time, round up. 23:22:41 [Pae] I'll post the log tomorrow, Diver.

23:22:45 [Tülarie] Yes, I can. First let me confirm a few things. 23:22:54 [Pae] Do I get extra XP for logging stuff? 23:23:05 [Pae] /probably not serious, doesn't care either way 23:23:08 [Tülarie] Which hex did we start from? The middle one on the top row? 23:23:15 [DMD] Also, that three times traveled hex is going to be the house rule for determing what's considered explored and what's not. 23:23:23 [DMD] Yes, Lurkdumb. 23:23:47 [Tülarie] And we traversed one hex east? Or was it two? 23:23:47 Porter votes for Star to get extra XP for logging. 23:24:17 [DMD] You traveled roughly two to the east three times in your dealings with Bokken and two south of the post once to the radish patch and spider lair. 23:24:47 [DMD] Well, twice including the way back, so you only need to travel those 1 more time to be explored. 23:25:13 [Tülarie] Okay. Let me quickly post this so I can get your confirmation. 23:28:25 [Tülarie] http://i.imgur.com/rd3OB.jpg ? 23:30:41 [DMD] The hut is to the east, not the west, other than that you're good. 23:31:17 [Porter] And we have to travel each hex 3 times to explore it? 23:31:25 Tülarie fixes this. But okay! 23:31:47 [DMD] Yes, I'm explainging this in the thread right now. 23:31:54 [Porter] Got it. 23:32:02 [Porter] What's the thread anyways, or is it not posted? 23:32:24 Porter also expects that's the last time Porter is a badass. 23:34:01 [DMD] *'s first log is already in the multiverse thread under Kingmaker, I'm typing my stuff right now. 23:34:07 Tülarie hopes not. Those low damage rolls kill. Also, here is the fixed map. 23:34:11 [Tülarie] http://i.imgur.com/X3gxk.jpg23:34:26 [Tülarie] ... still wrong. *Facepalm* 23:35:01 [Tülarie] Or... is it. *Squints* 23:35:32 [DMD] That's right, all you need to do is mark the hexes between Oleg and Bokken's as explored, just put an E or X between them 23:35:38 [DMD] ** In them 23:36:07 [Tülarie] Alrighty. 23:36:36 Porter hopes not as well. Also hopes that everyone gets to be badass at least a couple times.

23:36:55 [DMD] You could even mark how many times you've traveled other hexes like the ones between Oleg's and the Radish Patch by number, to make it easier to remember progress. 23:37:16 [Tülarie] I'll do that now then. 23:37:17 [DMD] As long as this AP is, I think everyone will have ample chance to shine 23:38:10 Porter just hopes being a sorc doesn't mean at later levels he outshines purely because he's a sorc. 23:39:06 [Pae] ((I expect it, it's okay. Sorc and cleric.)) 23:39:32 Porter is going to focus primarily on buffs if he can, so. 23:39:40 [Porter] And the occasional firepower. 23:40:15 [Porter] Buffs and debuffs and firepower mixed in there. Yes. 23:40:32 Porter has to go to bed though. 23:40:45 Porter had fun. Good game. 23:40:48 Porter exits from this room 23:40:50 [Pae] Diver, which experience rate did you say? 23:41:12 [Pae] Also, I too enjoyed the game. The log will be posted tomorrow, maybe. 23:45:46 [Tülarie] Would Oleg's post count as an E for Explored? 23:50:24 [Tülarie] And I think we're using Medium progression, Sini. 23:52:26 [DMD] Medium progression, and no the post is a previously established settlement
