*Warning! This is a Pony RP! If your not interested in that, turn back now!*
This plot idea is under heavy construction, so please bear with me.
My Little Pony: The Chaos Crisis.
One day, an average day like many others in the Lands of Equestria, strangers appear. Ponies, though different and strange, their forms dark, twisted reflections of the inhabitants of Equestria. Throughout the land, these dark ponies wander, and in their wake the land seems to wither and die. The plight of the land eventually reaches Princess Celestia. Concerned for the land she rules, as well as its inhabitants, Princess Celestia heads off to investigate, followed by Princess Luna.
Later that day, each and every pony in all of Equestria suddenly is swept with a feeling of dread. Amongst the most worried, Twilight Sparkle, Princess Celestia’s favorite pupil was the most worried. Every letter that she tried to send through Spike only returned covered in a strange black tar, the letters rearrange into an odd conglomeration, that when Spike read it, caused him to start speaking gibberish, and eventually disappeared into the Everfree forest, which is where all of the odd ponies originally appeared in.
Twilight sparkle, and her friends chased after Spike, to try and rescue him, and never reappeared again, disappearing into the Everfree forest without a word. Soon after, the dark and twisted ponies appeared in Ponyville, their corruption quickly affecting everything, and wherever the corruption was strongest, massive black obelisks appeared, towering over the landscape, radiating a red, angry energy that permeates everything, even the skies around the pillars become filled with twisting and rolling clouds of pure black.
All ponies within the area of corruption became sick as the land itself became twisted and dark, the once friendly landscape becoming a twisted landscape, strange creatures roaming the lands, terrorizing the sickened ponies. A few places became holdout bastions for ponies unwilling to leave, and strong enough to keep on going about their lives, tending to those to weak to carry on. However, the sickness did not stop spreading, heading to the very reaches of Equestria, until all within its borders were effected. Nothing seemed capable of stopping the spread of the corruption. Herbs and Medicines, plants of all kind seemed to be unable to affect the darkness, Pegasus ponies were equally incapable of changing the Dark Clouds around the obelisk’s, even to cause them to rain. Magic seemed to be the only thing capable of holding the corruption back, and even then it was a constant drain on any Unicorn that attempted it.
However, then the worst thing possible started to happen. Those ponies affected by the Corruption, and incapable of reaching a Unicorn that could push it back began to die. Their deaths were long, drawn out, and very painful as their bodies twisted and broke, their flesh rotting away as they died, even the strongest of those affected screaming their last breath away. However, that was not the worst of it. After each pony died, they rose again days later as a horrid, twisted monster that attacked those it once called friend. Its origin seemed to not be taken into account, all becoming hulking beasts that attacked with mindless, brute strength. Many of the surviving ponies were too weak to fight back, and feel under the bloody onslaught of these vicious creatures. Those that did survive fled to sanctuaries created by Unicorn ponies. Every day, the corruption grew worse, survivors filtering into spots desperately holding out with grim tales of family and friends dying and turning on those they once loved, and everywhere, the touch and gentle care and guidance of the two Princesses were nowhere to be found, nor were the Elements of Harmony. Things looked bleak for the inhabitants of Equestria.
These events would not just effect Equestria, the suffering and pain caused by the passing of the Dark Beings could not be contained. However, there was hope. When Princess Celestia and Princess Luna disappeared, their essences fled the world that they called home, unable to remain in their bodies which were now trapped within the Corruption. Seeking out new homes, the essence of the two Princess’s, and soon followed by the Elements of Harmony fled Equestria, and searched for Hero’s far and wide. Through the multiverse, people and beings were touched by these essence’s as each one found a new home in a recipient that best matched that particular essence. Countless beings from Modern worlds, Futuristic worlds, fantasy worlds, and even worlds that had yet to develop too far. Each and every being effected for a reason of its own, all missing something in their life.
There did not seem to be anything that guided the essences besides a desire to be as close to something akin to itself as possible. Personality wise, perspective, ideals, desires. All were the cause of the lost essences. Each of these people affected seemed to…change in a manner which more strongely reflected the Essence which had taken up within them, most important of all, each and every one of them seemed capable of performing magic of some kind, usually spontaneously, and without desire to do so. Even after, when they knew that they could do such things, they could not consciously cause the magic to happen. Needless to say, this caused havoc in many realms, and in others, went completely unnoticed. One and all, they were all affected in a certain manner. Dreams, visions, thoughts that almost seemed to be shared, they came constantly, at increasing intervals, and brought images of Dark Twisted landscapes, or tortured souls captured in cages, monsterous creatures roaming their worlds and others, and in each dream, a tiny bright light lies within the deepest darkness, filling them with a desire to seek out the light, to brighten it with their presence, and drive back the darkness before it was to late.
Over time, the Touched, as they came to be known universally through the various worlds became drawn to a particular location in each of their worlds. Unbeknowth to all of these worlds, this place was identical in every world, and actually overlapped. As each person came to this place, the essence’s within reacted, opening up a portal, sucking the recipient within.
As the Touched goes through the portal, they are dropped into a flowing, watery tunnel *All stargate like* that flows through reality. This portal bends and twists, the essence of reality shifting and bending around them, bending them as well, turning them into….thats right, Ponies.
All the Touched appear within a large circle of rocks that has so far been unaffected by the Corruption, all of their gear altered into some form that a pony can use. Drawn by the Essences of Harmony and of Celestia and Luna, the new Ponies have to face the Corruption, and come to the aid of those that have survived to this time. Trapped within the world of Equestria, they must find a way to defeat the Corruption, and bring back the Princess’s and the Elements of Harmony, otherwise they, and their worlds will also be consumed by the Great Chaos. But will they be strong enough to do so? Will people from so many worlds be capable of work together to survive? What will the Dark Ponies that brought the corruption to this world to, because they will surely not stand by while their work is undone.
And what of those that have been lost to the corruption. Mindless monsters, is it possible to bring them back? The fate of Equestria, and all words rest in the hands of strangers…
Types ‘o’ Ponies
Earth Pony: Sturdy and Strong, these ponies are the Workhorses. Incapable of flight or magic, they have a very strong resistance to the Corruption, and can last within it the longest, and can be brought back from the worst infection with enough treatment. Frontline fighters, the Earth Ponies have taken it upon themselves to protect the Weak with their very lives.
Unicorn Pony: This smart and intelligent Ponies are born with a natural talent for Magic, though whether or not they have studied and trained is another matter. These ponies, wielding magic, are one of the only two types that can push back the Corruption, from both Nature, and fellow Ponies. Whenever there is a sit of resistance that the corruption has yet to touch, you can bet that a Unicorn pony is somewhere nearby. Physically weaker, Unicorn ponies can succumb to the corruption much faster than the other kinds of ponies.
Pegasus Pony: These fast, speedy ponies are the masters of the sky, and are capable of recovering from contact with Corruption without the help of a Unicorn, however they cannot purge it completely. With the Earth ponies and the Unicorn ponies, the Pegasus ponies are the scouts of the Survivors, and can quickly go between safe area’s and establish communications. Most Corruption monsters are infuriated by flying ponies, and will almost always be distracted by a flying pony in the sky, giving their ground-bound friends a chance to escape a potentially leathal attack.
Alicorn Pony: A mixture of all the ponies, these bigger, more powerful ponies are very rare *Only 4 will be allowed, 2 females, 2 males* These ponies can take any position in a Pony Party, capable of facing the Corruption on any grounds. Alicorn Ponies tend to attract more powerful creatures however, so the presence of an Alicorn is both a blessing and a curse.
Dragons: Very rare, Dragons are mentally susceptible to the Corruption, however physically they are immune. The only known dragon baby, Spike, has disappeared in Everfree forest.
Griffon: Griffons are much like Pegasus ponies, however their recovery rate is a bit slower, though their capable of coming back from Heavy Corruption is much higher.
Points of Resistance
Sweet Apple Acres: Through sheer force of will, the Apple Pony family has managed to keep the corruption at bay long enough for several Unicorn ponies from Ponyville to show up and help with the protection. Many survivors from Ponyville have migrated here, straining the resources of the Apple Family.
Appleloosa: Large segments of this wild west town has succumbed, however there are a few buildings left that are under the protection of Unicorn Ponies. Things are very desperate here, with very little resources left, and many sick ponies slipping towards full corruption.
Canterlot; Outskirts: Because of the devastation of loosing both Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, the Unicorns of Canterlot were caught off guard and forced out of their home. Many of them have set up a resistance front in the wilderness nearby, though they do not have the strength to retake the Castle itself. Strongly militaristic, nobody is allowed to simply take up space.
Cloudsdale: Mostly untouched by the Corruption, the clouds created by the Black Obelisks are slowly reaching the home of the Pegasus ponies. Many Pegasus ponies have taken refugee here, dearly wishing they could bring their earth-bound friends with them.
Everfree Forest; Ruins Strangely enough, the Ruins of the Ancient Pony Sisters remains untouched. Here is were all of the Touched appear when they first enter the world of Equestria. A comforting presence is always surrounding this area, Corruption Monsters seem to hate approaching it.
Fillydelphia: Pockets of resistance still exist in this far off city, though reaching them for help, or to help will be a major project in and of itself. Its large population would be a great help against the Corruption if their problems could be fixed however…
Places of Heavy Corruption
Appleloosa; Main A Black Obelisk has appeared in the center of the Wild West town, spreading its corruption all around. It is yet a small pillar, its effects weak enough for some Unicorns to continue projecting protective aura’s around certain nearby buildings.
Canterlot; Main: This place was hit the hardest. Several Black Obelisk’s reside here, their corruptive essence overpowering for all but the strongest of Alicorns. Many of the strongest Corruption Monsters roam these places, and it is nearly suicide for Unicorn ponies to come around these locations without a lot of protectors.
Everfree Forest; Main Most of the Everfree Forest is under the influence of Corruption, several smaller Obelisks circling the forest. Many of the smaller, less powerful Corruption monsters seem to spawn from here.
Hoofington: Hoofington has been completely lost, all resistance fallen near the beginning of the corruption. One of the Dark Ponies is said to reside here.
Manhattan Like Fillydelphia, this far off area is also a bastion of resitance, though under heavy fire. Several of the Dark Ponies are focusing their attention on destroying the inhabitants of one of the largest pony settlements in Equestria, and they are gradually gaining ground.
Ponyville: Home of the Essence of Harmony, this place has a large Obelisk in the middle of it, and was one of the hardest hit locations, though many of the ponies that lived here managed to escape to Sweet Apple Farms. There are a lot of Lost Ponies roaming this place, having succumbed to the Corruption along time ago.
Trottingham: Somehow, this glamorous place has managed to stay standing, though the elite that live here have shown a dark side to their lives by denying entrance to any but Unicorns or Alicorns. Concerned with their own survival, they will turn away any they see as not capable of helping them directly.
Whitetail Woods: A dark and twisted place, it is watched by a single lonely Obelisk. A heavy fog covers the entire place, the ground is wet and spongy, and a foul smell permeates everything.
