Hi, I just registered to this forum. I've roleplayed in the past but I'm not very experienced at it so I've come here to find people to rp with and get better at it. Hi, I'm Braelinn, nice to meet everyone.

Hello Braelinn, and welcome.

If you're just starting out (or returning after a long hiatus), it's recommended that you lurk in several different rooms for a while, just to get a feel for how things work, and what sorts of characters/players you wish to interact with.

Be sure read the revised AUP, found here: http://nexxushost.com/forums/index.php/topic,64187.0.html

Most importantly, when dealing with people in the chat (especially people who will want to give you crap because you're "new"), you're ill-advised to take them too seriously, unless their usernames are italicized ... in which case paying a bit more attention is probably a good idea.

RP is a hobby; it is nothing more and nothing less. It is comparable to scrapbooking, model-railroad, gardening, etc. It is a self-indulgent, nigh narcissistic practice that yields no tangible benefits to anyone in any real, practical applications, and serves little more than to justify the egos of those involved, and occasionally impress someone who is equally self-indulgent and narcissistic. Taking it too seriously is a waste of time.

Yes, I know, I overreacted on that, I'm sorry. It sucks being the new guy everywhere I guess. I will take what grief I'm getting with a grain of salt and just ignore those giving it.

Welcome!  Don't worry about the grief and your troubles, because it will all go away once you Join the Herd!

On a serious note, hope you have fun here, try not to feed the trolls, and try not to cause drama.  If you find that you do have to cause drama, try to be tasteful, like Shakespeare.  Don't go overboard, and if a Mod or a a Admin of any kind tills you to stop something, its best to stop.  Follow that, and do what is fun for you *So long as its not feeding the trolls and causing tasteless drama* and you should be good.
