Blood And Sand is a post appocalyptic role play taking place in the year 2198, one hundred and fifty years after a nuclear appocalypse ignited the world in flame. While there may have been parts of the world that survived the horrors of the bombs themselves, nuclear fallout ensured that no place on Earth was left completely untouched. But that isn't to say that humanity was wiped from the map. Those that did not die were forced to abandon their former lives and daily life became a struggle for survival. Many that weren't killed by bombs or radiation were killed by groups of scavengers desperate for their next meal.

As decades passed and radiation slowly died away, people eventually began to explore the ruins and remains of the land around them. Most cities had been reduced to skeletal remains of buildings and those that weren't struck by nuclear fire eventually fell into decay on their own from disuse. And while some struck out to the cities they once knew others spread out into the wastelands and deserts that were left behind, forming tribes and living off the land. Either way, very little was as it once was.

The American West in particular had been struck hard. Though many in the west assumed that the rest of the world had been touched by nuclear fire as well, there was no real way to know for sure since modern communication quickly became useless without means to power it. With most modern forms of transportation rendered useless as well, the only surefire way to know would be to travel by foot across the ruins of the country, which seemed like a suicidal idea to most. But over the years that rumor traveled through the ruins of cities, close-knit tribes and the various settlements that peppered the West. Rumors that perhaps life in the eastern US, or at least in some parts of the eastern US, was spared the horrors of nuclear war. Some made it their goal to journey there and see for themselves, though none ever returned.

Blood and Sand is a mix between free form and DM-controlled styles of role playing. Which style becomes more prevalent will depend largely on the scene being played out at any given moment. Initially taking place in what remains of Western America, characters will embark on a journey across the ruins of the country for reasons their own, banded together with the most unlikely of allies and very likely to run into countless bizarre, adrenaline pumping, or even terrifying situations along the way.

We're just starting out right now, so if you're interested feel free to contact Aramore, Dhelena, or the room account BloodAndSand (which I will try to keep up as much as possible) on The Keep - http://www.nexxushost.com/rpg/thekeep/index.php

As far as rules go, don't cause problems out of character with other members, be respectful and you will be respected, all that good stuff. You all know your way around the block I'm sure.
