The problem with this logic is that it implies that they wanted to RP in the first place. Unless you can read minds, that's a big assumption you're making there. The room is stated in the rules that it's NOT an OOC room. It is strictly IC. People want to argue, "No one was RPing!" or "the room is not a character itself your point is moot". Both are dumb. As someone who was in the room at one point, trying to get an RP going with a friend and used the /ignore function for most of the OOC chatter. Then the OOC flooded the room and constantly bumped the posts off my screen. The /ignore function became pointless as I couldn't keep up with every name that was popping into the room. I gave up.

I'm not going to sit and argue with OOC vs IC in an IC room. The only thing we could do was leave, no longer in the mood to even attempt to RP. I usually can tolerate some OOC, if it's fairly minor or RP related. If it's that much of a hassle, I use /ignore. But when you have that many people flooding the room? It's a problem. I just think that if you really have no intention to RP and are going to sit and OOC in an IC room and not give others a chance to RP, then just go sit in an OOC room. How hard is that?

tl;dr - if you're going to OOC with no intention to RP, go to a freakin' OOC room or make one.

Pardon my interruption, but I saw something said that was very stupid.

We actually have a decent user base where we RP now; since we can actually control the levels of bad ju-ju that stream in, things have been much better there than they ever have on tK. The hostility is practically gone (save for a few rotten eggs from the get-go). As for people left here to fend for themselves? Hardly. We've openly extended invitations to anyone we recognize as a consistent RPers who are likely to contribute and assist in establishing the already very collaborative foundation, and even invitations to people who are devout OoCers, with the sole intent of building a better community.

I mean of course it must be easy to knock what you don't know anything about. Especially under the circumstances of not knowing, in full detail, what actually happened and the real reasons we decided it wasn't worth the pain in the ass to deal with trying to RP on tK anymore. We're happy with what we're doing, so whatever snide remarks you have, whatever keeps you complacent, by all means, continue forth with your ignorance.

...We get a good laugh out of it.


EDIT: It occurred to me that some people (MadMusician) may not be able to interpret this properly. I.E. the people that still come to tK and still RP on tK do it because they either feel like it, or didn't want to move for sentimental reasons. That's putting it plainly. Please, by all means, come RP with us if you have the desire to actually RP. You're more than welcome to, under the awareness of the constitution set forth by the staff.
