TV and comic shows.
« on: October 24, 2014, 07:20:58 PM »

Let's discuss the various comic based shows and movies. I've said before they're bordering on overkill now with  5 comic shows going at the same time.

Arrow
Flash
Gotham
COnstatine

Agents of Shield

Soon to come Peggy Carter Agent of Shield,Supergirl  and possibly more?

I think Arrow is mediocre to decent at best, I like it but it's nothing to write home about or get excited about for me, honestly the best part is the Easter Eggs and cameo-guest apearances.

Gotham is slow and boring to me, nothing to really hook me so far

Agents of Shield the second season so far is suffering from the bland vanilla start the first one did, it didn't pick up and get really good until the last five episodes or so, I wonder if it'll stay that slow again?

The FLash has been the pleasant surprise so far, it doesn't try to water down the campiness or be something it isn't and comes the closest to being a true super hero show.

Watching Constatine right now, too soon to tell but I don't care for the actor playing John.

Personally I think Agents of SHIELD has been hitting well. Better than how it was last year when it started. The HYDRA plot has really done it good.

Gotham started off as this noir show then they showed a cell phone and I was like "zzzz"

Excited for Peggy Carter to see what life was like for the early days of SHIELD, Peggy, and the Howling Commandos with Howard Stark.

Arrow and Flash I could give a shit about really.

Also should the Daredevil Netflix show be discussed along with Marvel's plans to tie that and the other Defenders into the MCU?

I know nothing about the Netflix stuff has it even started yet?

Flash is getting better and better, Arrow is still ok.

Shield is alright but they need to kick it up a notch, with all the C listers in Marvel they could use so far we get Dethlock and Mockingbird?

And the Absorbing Man. I do like what they've done with him, though.

I gotta see Flash! I was waiting for that to be released!
I got busy with my Kickstarter project and forgot about it!

I just started watching Agents of Shield a couple months ago.
Unfortunately, I started in on the second season. *Oops - taboo*
Normally I wouldn't touch something that I think will be bureaucratic.
However, I was pretty bored, and it was on Direct TV, so I clicked play.
Not sure what it says about the show that I was able to get the gist of it.
It annoys me if I binge a season and half the episode is repeating past plot.
I hope that I won't get bored if I start over again with season one episode one.
Overall, I'm liking it a lot, which surprises me. I prefer "magic" over guns, usually!

As for Gotham, golly, I love the art direction. I'm in the boat of loving anything noir.
I don't mind it being modernized, though I would have preferred it set in the past.
I'm rather interested in seeing how the children develop. Ivy! More of her, pleaz!
It's also fun being introduced to characters and guessing who they actually are.
They made it easy, and tossed in so many of the 'mains' in the first episode.
I feel like they should have made it a bit harder to identify the characters.
Also, maybe they could've introduced them more slowly, for emphasis.
It worries me that they are rushing through the story this quickly.
I hope that they're not doing it out of lack of funding or time.
If Gotham gets shut down after one season, I'll be sad.

I hadn't heard of these other shows. Interest piqued.
Anyone care to offer any personalized summaries?

I started watching both Flash and Constantine.
I honestly didn't expect to like the latter better.

Flash didn't seem very developed or authentic.
Cute nerd jokes, but kinda psuedo-intelligent.
I've always been fond of the concept of Flash.
So the silliness and shallowness saddens me.
I'd so much expectation I'm left disappointed.
I'll probably watch it, just so I know about it.

Meanwhile, Constantine seems promising!
I'm not into horror, but I enjoyed the pilot.
