Lied

Gender: Female

Skin the sun
Fall asleep
Wish away
The soul is cheap
Lesson learned
Wish me luck
Soothe the burn
Wake me up

I'm not like them
But I can pretend
The sun is gone
But I have a light
The day is done
But I'm having fun
I think I'm dumb
Or maybe just happy
Think I'm just happy

This unusual woman was discovered a few months ago, living on her own in the middle of the Black Forest, Germany. She has claimed that she has forgotten her life beyond waking in the woods and only a few memories have returned, according to her, and most of them are in relation to her skills and such. Not about the more sordid details of her history.

She seems to be a unique form of Feras, one of the Cervid variety if the short, thick fur that covered most of her skin and hooves were any indication. Strangely, she also had antlers when she first discovered though she tends to keep all these physical oddities concealed. Her hearing, agility and speed are a result of this race.

Her name is Lied, fitting because it was a song they followed when finding her. Not only that, but a large Mark was on her bare back. The large detailed tree etched into the blond woman’s flesh, following her spine up with the limbs and leaves reaching to her shoulder blades and to the back of her neck. It was left by Aok, the God of Trees.

The songs of birds seem to fill the wood
That when the fiddler plays
All their voices can be heard
Long past their woodland days

Lied’s age is unknown though they went with 28 years old based on her appearance. She’s a fair height (6’2) with curves in all the right places though the most attractive feature of Lied is possibly her voice. Feminine, capable of great range and pitch with multiple accents – the strongest one is German now. This is likely to change the longer that Lied is in Florida. Sometimes her spoken words or songs may be accompanied by the subtle, soft notes of instruments or a low, lingering echo.

She’s also an expert mimic of voices – masculine or feminine – and sounds. As for the whys and hows, Lied has no idea. At least that is what she says and that’s enough for most people. Very convincing words, compelling one might say.

Another innate talent that Lied seems to have is the ability to craft illusions to alter the appearance of the world around others though she’s only used this in small ways. It’s unknown if it is magic that she learned before awaking in the forest by the grand majority. If it’s not clear by now, Lied knows exactly who she is, what she is, and she is a very good liar.

Fuck them for selling it
Fuck you for buying it
Fuck me for making it
Fuck it all

Alchemist is the House that Lied chose and it seems to suit her well, especially when it comes to potions, tinctures, poisons in a whole manner of forms – liquid, powder, vapor. All of them are derived from plants, it's the one constant. In addition, she also seems very capable working with other materials like bone, gold, silver and wood. She also creates her own substances like alcohol (wine and a variation of Jägermeister) and drugs (marijuana, shrooms, ayahuasca). These skills of academic and practical importance don’t seem to end at botany and crafting though.

She is both fast and surprisingly strong, typically engages in hand-to-hand combat in a unique blending of various stylings though she doesn’t seem to regard those generalizations as anything more nitpicky classifications. Fighting is fighting, that’s all there is to it. When it comes to weaponry, she rarely uses them though she has successfully created three weapons for her uses in her brief time at the Red Tower.

Two are curved ‘blades’ of sorts though both sword and dagger appear to be forged from thin and thick roots and bone with an unusual golden shine for the cutting edge. The third is a staff-spear, made from the same materials as the ‘blades’, with one blunt end that is about the width of a baseball bat, wrapped with thick thorny vines and one very pointed end.

Earth magic seems to be the entirety of Lied’s focus when it comes to magic though if anything, she is considerably competent with it. Not just with the manipulation of trees, but also stones and the earth itself. Forests are the place that Lied is most comfortable, certainly, yet she seems to know the tricks and tips of surviving in most environments including the desert.

I am wild and free
I am untamable
I'm more than you'll ever see
More than just your dirty pretty

Lied currently shares a residence with one of her old friends and this makes life much more fun. Beyond her plants, she doesn’t have much. Just what she was found with. The most ‘flashiest’ of her possessions is a fiddle made of gold, well-tuned and she plays it well. It’s infrequently used unlike her flask.

Gold and silver with an engraving of a design combining the design of a tree and antlers. Quite suitable given the individual who has it. It’s the only thing that Lied will drink out of, something she calls a ‘survival instinct’. If you were the survivor of multiple poisoning attempts and the odd success, you’d do it too. And once you learn how to transmute water into alcohol, well, everything is easier. Especially life.

The other thing was a diamond, cut into a sphere and multi-faceted. Strangely, if one tries to see through illusions around Lied, their vision will become very blurry and multiplied – almost like seeing through a diamond itself or like the eyes of a fly. That seems to be what this gemstone is for – illusions. Is it what gives Lied the ability? Eh, who knows?

Unknown to most, save for herself and the very few individuals who know her, Lied is also in the possession of an invisible coat with numerous pockets on the inside. Like a drug dealer’s coat, only magical. If she is wearing it and running, her form will be slightly blurred.

Good sense, innocence, cripplin' mankind
Dead kings, many things I can't define
Occasions, persuasions clutter your mind
Incense and peppermints, the color of time

Who cares what games we choose
Little to win, but nothing to lose

To divide this cockeyed world in two
Throw your pride to one side, it's the least you can do
Beatniks and politics, nothing is new
A yardstick for lunatics, one point of view
